The farewell tour truly was a magnificent experience for Carolina's players and fans. The Tar Heels enjoyed those last 2 meetings far more than Coach K and Duke.

I've been a Tarheel fan since before birth. I always dispised the man, but it was always in the spirit of competition. Truly, he helped to carry on the greatest rivalry in all of sports, and I agree that he set a standard.
Seeing all those old players assembled though in one place gave me severe anxiety, lol. It forced up so many memories of the happiest moments and the bitterest of defeats. The rivalry will never be the same, but he will always be part of NCAA and ACC basketball. He gave a portion of his soul to the game, and it will live on long past his retirement.
Enjoyed Duke basketball my whole life. I always respect Coach K. So great to see many past players there. That shows how much he was loved. He will be missed.
Same here but he'll always be apart of us in the Duke family and he is one of the best to ever do the job and no one will ever replace the one of the Mount Rushmore of coaches in college basketball in my opinion

I have to add my Duke Story of the Young Coach K. In the fall of 1985 I was tasked with organizing a social event, but my living group had no money. I called up the Athletic Department to see if I could get someone from the BBAL team to talk about the upcoming season . They transferred me to Coach K. Who answered the phone and graciously agreed to come out and talk to basically 30 students. About all I remember of his talk was how much he talked about how great the student spectators were and how our support and volume gave Duke a big home turf advantage. How true that was and how much bigger that advantage became. How lucky were we? Over the years Coach K and his teams have given me and other Duke fans so much joy. What makes this so special to me is that K has also been unwittingly living and showing me values like family and respect. Again How lucky are we to have Coach K. Coach K you will be missed . I wish you and your family much happiness.
I’m not a Duke fan but I must say that Coach K is awesome and I wish him well ❤️

NEVER been a real COACH! Gets the best players money can buy, and when it doesn’t work out, it’s the player’s faults. Such a pathetic fraud. Most wins of all time? Only bc he SCHEDULED the most GAMES. He cannot TOUCH Dean’s or Roy’s winning percentage! Dean got his playing less than thirty games a season. K started scheduling as many as he could. Look at his LOSSES! And no UNC coach would ever be so self-centered as to have Farewell Tour. So classless! Didn’t once think about the pressure that it would put on those kids, because he doesn’t care about them. Look at him up there in his Ivory Tower, looking down on all the students and fans…It’s ALWAYS been about HIM!

Ive hated this man for 28 out of 28 years of my life...... Love my Tar Heels. I was so pumped up that we won. But I will say, congratulations. Without a doubt the greatest college basketball coach of all time. And even though I'm only a few years removed from the experience, I'm beginning to realize how awesome it was for me, a Tar Heel fan, to sit about 20 feet behind him and Zion Williamson inside of Cameron Indoor. Thanks for the years and the dedication.

I have to say Kentucky has had many great coaches probably some as great as coach K. Tubby Smith/ Pitino and Calipari in my lifetime.

As a Duke Alum member of class of 86. I will take it. Coach K is the real deal. We have been gifted beyond what we deserved. He has given us so much success and joy and we have probably been obnoxious and even cocky about our BBall team. His shoes will be hard to fill.

Total class always. Though my blood and heart is green 💚 in Izzo land, coach K Integrity, class, values, loyalty, execution, and bringing the W can’t be beat. Family first, not following greener pastures of $ and just wanting his kids to be the best they can be on and off the court, and getting an education He goes down as best ever NCAA coach in my book.
