Thank you for posting this. I was able to use your excellent tutorial to replace the maintenance kit on my Whirlpool dryer yesterday. One tip for those who might find putting the belt back on the motor difficult: If you have room, lean the dryer back at an angle while you're mounting the belt. It makes seeing, and accessing, the tensioner and motor *much* easier. Also, watch out for sharp edges inside the dryer; I cut my finger while moving my hand around inside.
This is a solid video! I visited it before I ordered the replacement kit to see how difficult it would be. I opened up my dryer and within 30 minutes found the issues to my squeaking dryer issues. I inspected the belt, the pulley and the drum support rollers. Ended up lubing up the bottom roller and now the squeak is gone! I'll keep an ear out for the squeak, but now I know where to get replacement parts and how to do perform it. Thanks Steve!
Excellent video! Great instructions with phenomenal delivery of said instructions! I am a master plumber and wish i knew more about appliance repair. Videos like this make my life easier and puts more money in my pocket! Thank you!
Thank you for the video. Most home owners know to vacuum out the interior before installing the new parts. If you hire a repairman make sure you clean the area before installation.
Great video!! I bought the kit and was worried about being able to make it. It was very easy and the video is very clear on the explanations! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for posting this video, you made my life easier, in the beginning I didn’t I would be able to do it, it after watching the video I felt like a Pro
You left out 1 step. When putting the drum back in, be sure the felt on the back is on the outside of the drum. I used my flat head screwdriver to gently push out any felt that was in the drum. Otherwise, this was an excellent tutorial and I had great success in completing this job myself. Thanks so much!
Thank you. 8 Years later I ordered the kit and was wondering why the wheels were for haha. I wanted to upgrade my silly friction one to a pulley and had the extras when replacing the belt.
The biggest pain is getting those little triangular rings past the first groove, and you fast forward over that part, making it look so deceptively simple.

The belt doesn’t stay straight when I spin it….and it is not tumbling
Awesome! Thanks
