I just this morning found this song being sang by Leslie Jordan at the Grand Ole Opry. I then searched the song name and found this video. Short story - our church had been closed for 24 years. About two and a half years ago a friend had it placed on her heart that the church had to be back open. We have worked on renovations. Currently we are working to have a steeple added. This very morning we have been talking on messenger and Googling for suppliers. This song coming up in my TH-cam suggestions was awakening. 🙏🏻❤️
T. Graham Brown, Jimmy Fortune, and Marty Raybon all joined Adkins for a one-of-a-kind collaboration on the gospel classic “I’m Working On a Building.” The video that the quartet shot for the song was used to help raise awareness for International Cooperating Ministries, or ICM. - they recently built their 2,000 church in Africa. It is time that churches who go overseas as missionaries realize that it is we in North America that need a New Conversion. This isn't about politics or national pride. it is about the many of us who have slipped away from the true message of "Love your enemies; do good to those who hate you".
I can't believe it's only got 2900 views !! I fully expect TH-cam doing their "censorship" to it because it's "something Christian" !! Great job guys, the 4 o' y'all's voices fit each other like an old shoe !!
I think the guy with the mustache could sing Bluegrass style! I'm surprised at how well I liked this way of doing it. I'm normally more into Bluegrass.
This could apply to ourselves as a temple of the Holy Spirit, The United States Capital, as well as a church! Praise God, let's restore God to our country that was providentially founded as a refuge for the Children of Abraham. Keeping Godly people in power ensures religious freedoms for all United States citizens, that's how the founders designed it! That is indeed why our country is different from all others! Take back our country Christians and return our freedom of religion as well as our liberties!
I'm not familiar with gospel music (and I'm not an American), so if someone would please explain: is this song the same "Working on the building" Elvis used to sing? They hardly sound any similar, neither in harmony (which I believe is not unusual), nor in lyrics, apart from the first verse. Are these two completely different songs who share the same title and overall plot, and nothing else?
In many Southern Gospel traditional songs (such as Workin' On A Building), the song may be rendered in several different styles with added verses and still be the same basic song. This is the case here, where the musicians render the song in a rock-a-billy up-beat style. Elvis did a similar style but with fewer verses and stops but it's basically the same song interpreted differently by the artists. If you were to search on TH-cam for this song title, you will find several different styles, some slower and some faster even to a Blue-Grass style with banjos, mandolins and fiddles but you could recognize the same basic framework of the song.

😂 showing video of an physical building? This is not what the song is about. But hey Pat yourselves on the back for ruining Bill Monroe’s song. This is horrible.
