      Coach allen I would say the perfect height for a player ranges in differences per level for starters Amateur level aau/rec league middleschool/H.S.( PGs/SGs from 5'3 to 6'5''+)( Fs/Cs 6'0"to 6'10"or taller)( COLLEGE div1 to div 3( average guards 5'11" or 6'0" to 6'8 ➕)( forwards and center's( 6'4"-6'6" to 7'0") PRO/ NBA average height from guard to center i would say 6'3"or 6'7" to 7'0" or taller 🤔

    My Brother Almost became Famous in Austria because he was so good at Baketball, he was only 5‘8 But still was incredibly Sporty and agile, unfortunately he had an career ending Injury. As for me I am Right about 6‘3 and 1/2 and I am still growing it atleast Hope so haha but I‘ve Never Played Basketball, however This Video encouraged me to try it out, Even tho I may be to small but my Brother is my Inspiration haha anyway thanks for the Video!

That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with Asian kid thats 5’9” maby he’s slow twitch 1 dominant and is really good at endurance sports like long doesn’t running. But he simply will not be as good as the 6’6” players thats fast twitch 2 dominant if that player puts In equal work or even less effort like 10 -15 which actually doesn’t sound like much but it is he will still be better and have more value to recruiters because of his genetic gifts

    I agree and disagree at the same time.
    First: Height alone should not itself be valued alone from a phyiscal standpoit. There are better options: Vertical reach from your feet to your fingertips, your handsize and your wingsspan. Especially vertical reach is most important. There are player which are a bit smaller, but have crazy wingspans, which makes them perfect for wing defenders. But generally speaking: Basketball is the type of sport which profits the most from beeing tall. Thats doesnt mean that you cant make it, if you are talented. However, beeing tall increases you chance heavily. I think I once saw a statistics which said if you are 7 feet tall chances that you gonna make it to the nba around 10% - there just are not that many people :D

  • @matthewbartke4424
    @matthewbartke4424 3 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    The perfect height? That's easy. The perfect height is: Taller
    Height is > Skills
    The average player in the NBA is 6'7. That is so tall that there are only 2 million people in the world that tall or taller. That means the talent pool is tiny compared to shorter people and why 7 footers (only 2800 in the world) who can barely move or never played basketball before have millions thrown at them just in case they are decently skilled.
    If skill was even close to the most important thing in basketball, the average height would be closer to the average. Your average sized person being in the NBA is the exception, not the rule.
    I'm not trying to be mean, it is just reality. If you want to be the best (like any NBA player), you need to be super tall.
    If you're just playing in your community, it isn't as big of a deal because it isn't a meritocracy. Anyone can play. If you want to make millions, not so much.

That’s the reason african Americans don’t have as much fast twitch muscles compared to west Africans because they have 20% European blood on average and there’s not direct evolutionary pressure for them to have that trait

The surgery is much more advanced and safer than it used to be! I’m 5’9 and I’m getting it as soon as I can afford it because I’ve always wanted to be tall! To be honest, the only reason I haven’t done it at this point is because it’s really expensive.

      I would ask your dad if he had a late growth spurt. I know of one person with the last name Abdi who grew a few inches when he was 18 .... I know last name doesn't mean much when it comes to height, but I thought I would share that story anyways

      @@bballcoachallen I'm saying as a male if u are shorter than 5'8 everyone will call you short 5'9-5'10/5'11 (I'm 5'10 btw) is average once you hit 6 ft you are tall but even 5'10 is tall depending on who you ask and what type of environment you live in
