  • Ay guys, this weeks video is a rundown on a ZOLEO satellite communication device. And why I chose to go this way and not a sat phone. I'm still pretty new to this device my self, but have learnt a bit about it over the last several months and it seems to be the best thing for me and what I do. So ill share my experiences with you guys and a few details about it. If you have any other questions about it feel free to leave a comment and ill try me best to help ya out.
    Again thank you all for the support guys..
    If you wanna help the channel out more you can jump onto our website and maybe make a purchase if you like something you see.

    I’ve had one for 2 years. Works flawlessly almost as fast as normal texting on your phone. No matter the weather conditions it just works. It’s suppose to have a clear view of the sky but I’ve had it work sitting on the dash of my truck inside my garage.

    Great video on it mate, I've been using one for awhile now and turn plans on and off for trips. It costs $6.50 per month to have it sitting idol until you connect again unless you deactivate your account completely then costs nothing. But then when you connect again it's a minimum of 3 month plan first up then you can go month by month. My mates and I used it up the west coast of the cape on the unlimited plan chatting to our wife's and kids around the camp fire each night. Highly recommend it.
    Cheers mate 🍻

      Thanks mate.
      And yes, that's also handy to know about what it cost to keep on hold.
      Would benefit a lot of people to know that and a good option when not in full use.
      I know it keeps the old girl happy and up to date as well, piece of mind for me as well.

    Am I correct? The advantage of the sat phone is you can talk to anyone provided you can link to a satellite. Sometimes not possible because of cloud cover. The zoleo is always connected to a satellite but you can’t talk only text. The zoleo will alert emergency services that you require assistance and pinpoint your location

    Hi Camp Man. You explained that very well. I would much rather listen to you, as a man of experience, before purchasing this kind of product. The texting is a great advantage. I do have a GME EPIRB but your system is next level. You explained it with common sense. Thank you for that. How is your Cel-Fi-Go performing ?? I recently bought one, but it's very difficult to know if it's actually working. I will head out to the bush soon, to give it a better test.

      Thanks Kevin,
      its always harder when you're explaining something to someone, as to just explaining it you your self. Still have me Cel-Fi, another great bit of gear for what they do and have there advantages for as well.
      I do recommend getting a directional antenna as well, they make a world of difference when facing the right way. Also don't for get to put the Cel-Fi on 3g when making a call if your having troubles on the 4g setting. :)

    Look good mate, just a question. Does it come with your own personal number or do a person needs to have an app to contact you?

    • @Thecampman_Camping-Australia
      @Thecampman_Camping-Australia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You download the append so does the other persons you wish to keep In touch with, that way you can do 2 way messaging. The app is free to download for both you and the other person.. And you both keep your own number mate.

    • @Thecampman_Camping-Australia
      @Thecampman_Camping-Australia  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thru the ZOLEO app.. Once's the app is on you phone, you than connect the ZOLEO to your phone via the app... You can than do 2 way messaging vie phone device. Its pretty much like sending a text. You just can't make phone calls.
      But you can also send emails if need be.

      Its like this, if I don't let mum know where I am or if she don't ear from me....Mum will hunt me down! And just quietly, id rather the mob after me than mum! haha.
      But I do know what you mean mate, and when I return I'm always taking mum n partner out camping as much as I can. One day id love nothing more than to fly her to one of the spots I'm camped at and just give her the brake she needs.
