I just had to check it out and you were right, it is also called German turnip. You are fortunate to have fresh veggies from your garden already; I am looking forward to plant mine. I am in Toronto, Canada and believe it or not, I was looking at my backyard this morning and it snowed last night.

Ahh! Still snowing!! It's already almost 90 degrees down here. I highly recommend trying kohlrabi a try! It was so tasty.
You did a great job growing kohlrabi. I used to grow the green version. It is also very tasty when steamed and a little butter & salt added.
