      @unapologetically_masculine707 so what we were married. Everyone in my black community was married when I was a child back then, but the abuse, poverty and unhappy marriages in my community was unbelievable. They married to look the part. But honestly we were still in chains. So when I hear people talk about blacks were married at a higher rate back then I laugh because it was a mess, but nobody spoke about what was really going on those homes. It was hush hush. We were having ten and twelve kids and the father was making $1 an hour. It was a horrible mess, so I see nothing great about being unhappy married and in constant poverty raising a bunch of kids just to say you are married!

    • @unapologetically_masculine707
      @unapologetically_masculine707 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      @@writeone6665 Unfortunately, this is inaccurate. I apologize for your experience. However, I come from a black community as well in a city that is in the top 5 for highest black demographics in the U.S. Also, I come from a home with 4 siblings, where my parents were married for 50 years prior to my father passing. You are speaking of the exception versus the rule. Marriage is serious and should be taken as such prior to marrying. The statistics show that children are more successful (less crime, drugs, illiteracy) and poverty is less with 2 (married) parents in the home. It is embarrassing that anyone would be advocating for single parent homes. Also, this is the design that God put in place, so it must be the right foundation.

    American school system doesn’t teach about black history. We must never forget. This just proves that the history should never be forgotten and this is the reason we must study and learn and teach history so that we may never forget.

    According to the Stats, the Black family as a unit was better then, than now, the divorce rate was lower, children born out of wedlock were lower, the diet was even healthier (less fast food) etc

      STATS?? ANALYZE THE LYNCHING STATS

    • @LadyMaltese
      @LadyMaltese 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Apples to oranges. Divorce wasn't widely available and fast food wasn't a thing yet. Most Americans at that time got married and "living together" was rare. Jim Crow segregated black and white people to their own shopping areas, schools, and homes. Lynching was the price any black man, woman, or child would pay for any violation.

      marriage rates for everyone during jim Crowe were higher. women were PROPERTY during that era. there is no need to ATTEMPT and make a correlation with marriage rates and the strength of black families like he is trying to make. black families were routinely separated for fear of physical harm where one person leaves the entire state and lives separately. this right wing narrative always lacks causation and always suggests black families are the main benefactor of poverty programs when that is a lie lie lieee

    Yeah, family stayed together more when they were forced to because women didn't have any other options. They were taught that they better grow up and marry a rich man, because you're only hope in life is to be taken care of by a man.

  • @Ray03595

    You guys aren’t listening to him. He’s talking about the state of the black FAMILY. As in during the Jim Crow era black families stood together, it was a two parent household, education was emphasized, and there was an overall stronger community in the face of oppression. Compare that to the black family today where single motherhood is rampant, black men arrested every day for a crime, baby mamas having several children and banking on welfare… of course this is just a section of the current black family, but it is still a crisis we blacks need to address. The View, and Hakeem Jeffries COMPLETELY missed what he was saying. Oh, I’m left leaning too btw. Cannot stand the dishonesty in media I’m seeing everywhere is all. You wonder why democrats are leaking black voters btw? Dems keep telling us over and over how oppressed we are and how helpless we are. Actually a bit refreshing to hear a time recalled when blacks fought and determined our own destiny.
