I was there today and my dream came true when I saw my childhood hero Viswanathan Anand ji first time face to face It is really very beautiful feeling my eyes got wet with happiness 🥺🥺
It should have been Anand handing it over to Polgar...that would have been beautiful! I guess they've experienced enough bureaucratic shenanigans to not bat an eye over it though.
Body language of Judit clearly showing that she wasn't happy by not handing the torch to none other than vishy Sir, Who the hell those guys are? No matter whoever they are, Vishy sir, is the only guy in India to have the ability to hold that

Yeah, but what do bloody politicians do... (both Dvorkovich AND sports min.): do their MAXIMUM to HOLD ON to it... as if THEY have played chess all their life!! 🤣😅
May be you dont know so let me tell u protocols and how these events conducted so you will be well informed and save yourself from raising these things. 1. This was FIDE event along with AICF to get the Torch from India to Budapest. Anand is Deputy president of FIDE so he is also part of organizing team and not chief Guest. 2. FIDE & AICF must have written a letter to Sports Minister office for Anurag Thakur's kind presence during the function as Guest of Honor so yes Mr. Thakur was Chief Guest at event. 3. AICF guy Mr. Sanjay Kapoor was very humble to not take much limelight even he was the official host from India's side (Since Anand represent FIDE as Deputy president). Mr. Kapoor anyway given his time to Anand sir as rightly so but not required. 4. Engaging Sports Minister in these small events build a soft power for our Indian federation in from of FIDE. It shows that Govt is very supportive towards chess and it helps bring big events in India. 5. Mr. Anand & Ms.. Judit Polgar were given respect they deserved and not over do it. I don't know what to add more. I hope you get it
Wow, that's a looong comment: feel sorry for u bro. Forgive ur ignorance. Woke teachable moment: do you know quite a few politicians (and corp. honchos/powerful in general) do what is called "popularity by association"? So, they go to sports events, science events, etc. JUST to get "photographed" WITH the famous person in that field (obviosuly SOME good politician exceptions are there)? So they can bask in the "reflected light"/gain credibility? ALSO, the Tamil Nadu and Odisha Govts (and some corporates) have done MUCH more for chess in terms of money, FYI. Next time, as you type try to actually THINK of what the person might be saying...
