You’re making me want to make soap again. My husband believed in my soap business so much. It hurts to make it now since he passed away. He loved helping me make soap especially goat milk soap. He wouldn’t have wanted me to give up on my soap business dream. I think I’m going to put an order in for some fragrances and supplies. Thanks Jer. ❤
My Condolences 💐 Please start making Soap again, the world needs your unique talents, the love, care, attention to details, commitment and much more, would do a world of good to those who need that boost from a good Soap 😁 Wishing you all the best 🌺
I have been watching you from the beginning and thank you for sharing and being an inspiration. And yes, I took the step last year and started making soap. And now thinking of the possibilities but all with balance and going at my own pace. Thank you😊
Thanks for the amazing words of encouragement. What I took away is step back if needed, breathe, and ignore negativity. Slow and steady wins the race.❤
It's nice to see that you are settling in your new home and getting back in your groove. I like how you've pivoted your videos to match where you are in your journey while incorporating your new brand. 🎉
Your house is beautiful and cozy. It gives a sense of relaxation, passion, and love. Thank you for these words. I needed to hear this. God bless you and Kyle.
Great video, I've been watching for a while and love what you've done with TH-cam as well. As a wannabe entrepreneur this video hits home 4 years into my candle making business and I've not achieved success as quickly as I'd like or as quickly as you see others on Instagram but I've started to enjoy the journey and take it at my own pace. Each piece of the jigsaw I put together gets me closer to the goal! I'd rather keep failing and learn whilst making a perfect and safe product than rush it or give up! 😊
I can totally relate to that. I used to go to every single farmer market, three times x week sometimes more and also working full time very stressful social work job. Ended at the ER two days on a row and quickly realized what is important in life. Yes, I love my products and I love my business but was hard because people got used to get my products in person and to see smell them etc and even when they reach out to me and I reduced my prices and offered discounts and asked them to place their orders online, the support was minimal and I learned. Little by little I started receiving orders online. Sales decreased , but health and balance are more important. THANK YOU!
You remind of things I may forget at times. Thank you for your words that encourage me to just be me and take my time and not to stress about thing out of my control. Love you so much.❤
YOU are my hero, Jerika Zimmerman!! I just love watching how your business has been evolving over the years. I wish we had had the chance to meet when you lived in Ontario. I feel so much peace and confidence and inspiration when I watch your videos. I've been so scared to step up to the youtube game for the past 3.5 years (when I originally challenged myself to start on TH-cam). I'm not quite there yet but I'm getting closer and more brave. You definitely inspire me to want to reach for the stars on my own terms. Even when I get discouraged, I still can't imagine not doing this. I love it!! You're amazing. Thank you for always sharing your love of soap making, etc. Hello to your hubby too. Hope dinner was delish.
Me too! I do miss Ontario - hopefully I’ll be able to get my green card soon! But yes, discouragement happens to us all (even me) but best to focus on the next step forward. Looks like you’re getting there! ❤
You have a beautiful life with your family, be proud of all you have accomplished. I love soap but don’t have the time to devote to it now, I appreciate you saying each journey looks different and is worthwhile. 😊
💜💜💜 So much of what you’ve said resonates with me. Everyone’s journey is completely different and that’s amazing! The trick is finding what works for you. Sometime, when you are ready, can you share how you got your bulk orders. Would love to hear how that success happened for you. 💜💜💜
I have been doing a bit of catch up with videos and so love your lake side home, so peaceful and I’m sure giving you inspiration sitting looking out over the view. Jerika one 3yr old video i rewatched was the one you went through the excel spreadsheet. Although i have used it for data entry ( self taught ) i always did calculations by hand…..oh my goodness thank you for showing how to do that part so easy. I have been soaping at home for family then friends unpaid for about three years and now despite being 80 i am going with encouragement to see if i can sell some soaps mainly to help me continue with the cost. I worked as a nurse until 70 so hobbies for me were always home based, and soap making initially just to see if i could do it became a love. I love using natural products so it is rather expensive as you know and prices here in Aus have shot up through the roof. As i wont register to sell until September i am busy getting the business requirements completed, hence the spreadsheet. So thank you for honesty, encouragement and advice. With love from Australia
Thank you for this video Jerika! I’ve been watching your videos from the beginning, and your warm, honest, approach is so refreshing! Your voice and your uplifting positivity that resonates throughout all of your videos could seriously be turned into an app! With the state of the world right now, so many people would benefit from your positivity! Keep up the amazing work. Thanks for all that you do!
I've just binged several of your videos, and now I want to be besties 😅 Everything you said in this video feels like it was being said directly to me. I'm very new to soap making (like 3 batches in) but I'm doing everything you said you did at the beginning. I've been trying too hard to be successful really quickly and it's unsustainable. It's motivating and challenging seeing all the big soap making accounts because it makes me feel like I want to be where they are right now. I got burnt out and started doing other things. But I want to start soap again, just at a slower pace, for myself. Anyway, thank you for your videos, they're very relatable and enjoyable to watch. ❤ from another PNW girl!
Ive been small batching and studying for 4-5 years. Many soap groups and subscribing along the way. YOU Jerika are my greatest inspiration of all that I've followed. Thank you for sharing your humble journey. ❣
You sound so joyful! ❤ I took a year off and have come back ful of delight in the creative side, sharing my discoveries with my customers. It’s fun again! Thank you, sweetie! You are so good at verbalizing the right things… I just combined two new things ( for me) charcoal and then indigo powder for my blend… it’s soooo pretty! Going to introduce it at our local lavender festival next week. It’s amazing to have found this happiness in creating again.💕
I am so glad you are talking about this. Because i choose to work like that but seeing others soapmakers and formulators make a lot of products and work a lot and i felt a little behind on my business. So thank you for sharing this is just an affirmation that i made the right decision about my business.
Hi Jerika! Just found your channel and I really appreciate the encouragement and words of wisdom! Oh and your gorgeous soaps are over the top! I subscribed and looking forward to watching your journey. I’m in the process of finishing up my extensive testing phase for a candle and aromatics business and hoping to launch by the end of July or early August. As you know so much goes into a new small handcrafted business! Still practicing how to make labels for my products.🤪😅😂 All the best to you and your wonderful business. 💖
Wow Jerika! I created a new recipe using Safflower oil and it came out soooo smooth and creamy. I had so much working time and it felt great. Thank you for telling me about Safflower oil!!!❤❤❤
Loved this video, it does take time to find yourself and put the words and actions of others behind you. Live for your happiness, not others. You should be so proud of yourself. You have a message and a product that reaches people. Thank you for sharing with us. I hope I’ll be able to purchase some products before they all sell out when you reopen your store. Also, Nicola Coughlan is truly someone to look up to. 😊
Hey Sweetheart…what a pleasant video to share your personal philosophy of growth……your soap slabs looked amazing….. I think the lemon lilac is a winner…..
Hello I Love your videos and the fact that you explain every step is awesome I just had a question. Ive been looking on your patreon to see if you had a recipe for Body Butter Bars or Solid Lotion Bars but am having no luck in finding one. I have tried so many recipes and don't like any of them lol they always seem to be to greasy. So was wanting to ask if you have a good formulation for them?
@@JerikaZimmerman great, thank you. I was thinking about using Apricot oil or sweet almond but I’m afraid it will be too sticky of a batter , unmold weird, or take too long to cure. Did you find you had to adjust water ratio?
I’m from the other side of the world, and have my own small salon from home. Not quite comparable since I mostly sell services, but nevertheless enjoy your business content. I love your channel. Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge. Where did you find that amazing green soap cutter that you use?
Would a coffee grinder like the one you use be good for some one who only drinks about 2 cups a day?
I drink one coffee a day and this grinder is perfect!
@@JerikaZimmerman Thank you!!!
Beautiful soaps. What scale do you use. I’m having trouble finding a good one.
Thank you! It’s In the description☺️
Do you replace olive oil with high oleic sunflower oil in your soap recipe? I’m trying to find a substitute 😓
I did! It’s been excellent so far!

High oleic sunflower oil .

Olive oil 😕 I took a deep breath of hot air the last time I was at Costco.
Yeah I held on for as long as I can but nope… had to walk away. 😢
I hope to God that our beautiful nation transforms for the better. Our business has plummeted over the last 1.5 years.
Hang tight! It has bounced back many times before ❤
It will 🏁😎🥰
