So glad you got everything fixed in time. Also, don’t worry about two down vlogs in a row - firstly this one picked up again, and secondly, it’s actually quite reassuring to see that other people have weeks where it’s just thing after thing after thing
And yet again we see that sometimes the smallest of things can not only cause the biggest of strain but it's usually very easily fixed by, you guessed it, the smallest of things. It's such a small thing for one person but means the world to another. At Drayton manor, the small allowances the guys with the Thomas train gave to Andy no doubt gave him some extra strength to power through and make it back to the car. They didn't have to do that but just a small stop on the turntable thing and a few seconds to get up close gave an incredible amount of happiness to Andy. The BT, Openreach and Sky guys didn't do much more than their job. The Openreach guys may of been running a little behind schedule for fitting you in and someone at customer services at BT and Sky may of had to go on a slight limb to juggle their guys' schedules. Nothing massive for them, but so incredibly huge for your family. So glad it was all sorted and well, no waterslide will ever compare to this drama right?
I don’t think I breathed until it was fixed was so stressful just to watch. I can’t imagine what you were both going through. So glad it all worked out in the end.
I was holding my breath, too. I think my heart rate and blood pressure went sky high until it was fixed. Think about what this did to Kevin… They really don’t need anymore “bad” luck.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry during this video! SO glad you were able to get it repaired in a timely manner. I have had similar things happen so I totally understand the frustration and stress involved.
If Paul & Lawrence happen to be watching, you guys are Legends! Unless you are a parent/ carer for an Autistic person you won't understand how vital and crucial your role was in the life of this family. Well done chaps!!!
Kevin! I’m so sorry that dude cut your line into the house. Thankfully, they helped you so quickly! That type of emergency customer service would never work in the States. Don’t forget to get ahold of the management company of the property and complain/report what happened. That way you notified the management company in case you’re billed for the repairs. You should be able to collect the charges from the management company, because it was their employee who caused the damage.
The important lesson here is those people who had family members that are Autistic could fully relate to Kevin's situation and the impact on an Autistic child. They understood the potential melt down issue. The majority of people who do not comprehend how such things impact an Autistic person would (will) not be at all helpful and push back. This is where companies and agencies that serve the public need to educate their staff about Autism and what can become an "Autism Emergency."
Our yard guy cut through our cable too but didn’t tell us. So I figured it out when I went to check it when nothing else fixed the issue. I was scared we would get charged to replace the cable when it wasn’t our fault. Luckily that didn’t happen but oh people need to be careful.
That engineer was lazy. That copper csp should have been removed the fibre csp should sit above the capping with the copper pairs fed in the back of csp. Kelly’s is my guess 😅
If the cables were laid correctly, this wouldn't have happened. But apparently no value is placed on operational safety in the UK and USA. Cables are laid directly under the grass and nailed unprotected to walls. The gardener is not to blame! It's better to complain to the company that laid the line so sloppily.
I think that blouse really suits you Kev and congratulations on getting everyone round to fix your stuff too! Might be a good idea to work on a plan with Andy to be able to have coping strategies when stuff breaks, I went through a hellish few years doing exactly that with my son. I know from bitter experience it's easier said than done but it Is possible with hard work. At the moment you're just dodging bullets (as my sons social worker once pointed out) and at least there are two of you, I had to do it all single handedly. The day the police nearly had to section him was day I really got down to business. I know you guys can do it if I did, I was one of the worst for getting discouraged and depressed and not following through long enough. There are so many organisations out there with parent volunteers who are just that little bit further down the autistic teenager road who offer support to autism families when social care dont or cant offer anything more than leaflets etc...these listening ears saved my sanity and my son from a mental health crisis ward. You guys are so committed to what's best for Andy I've no doubt you'll make it through these final tough few years to where he'll be ready to live in a successful supported living placement.
I'm so sorry all this has had to happen to your family, you did absolutely nothing wrong to deserve this!! I really hope you get a stroke of good luck in the future🥰
I’m a openreach engineer. Unfortunate that things like this do happen but if that was a clean cut by a mower you wouldn’t see the blue of the fibre exposed. The black protector part of the cable is cut clean but the blue fibre is about 4-6 inches longer . It should have a clean cut at the same length. It’s rather suspect why the blue part of the cable is showing. I work with the cable everyday and if it was cut by a mower , scissors, Or by a knife the blue bare fibre wouldn’t be exposed like it is on this video. More likely someones gone in the CSP (grey box ) and cut it or pulled it out .
Glad you got it sorted, but I would say get a bigger non discript plant or bush as they left that giant green plant/weed well alone. Stay strong and well 👍.
Are you able to get a data plan for Andy’s computer or iPad? We have a plan through our cell phone carrier for my nephews iPad so that even if the internet goes out he can still use the iPad. The iPad was assigned a phone number and works just like a cell phone once it’s on a data plan…
Gutted lol well the internet phone line you can sort of fix it but the fiber hmm not so easy get on the phone to bt lol you have a few fallowers. So try bribe them. Also you can get the sky to work and if your skyq box just a reset. It. But of its cut to short the fibre. And you need a new feed that wont be a 10 min job. Why not speak to next door ask to use the internet or use your phone as a hotspot is what I did when we had no home line for 2 months b4 I moved n glad you got it sorted
Well done on open reach, bt and sky ,that was amazing , hope Andy's ok xx, forgot to say I got a parking fine today from parking eye , we got fined when we went to wickstead park last week even when we paid £3 but sorted it with wickstead
That wasn't done by accident, the cable had been cut at the entry point of the csp (grey box on the wall) a lawnmower would of cut it at grass level and why would a strimmer be strimming that high up? This guys either peed the guy off or someone else whos done it deliberately or he damaged it himself and made this story up to avoid a charge to get it fixed, I mean how can he not know who was cutting his grass or who they work for? Sounds a bit suspect to me.
Why did you have the decos as an additional network just for Andy especially if they’re all connected to the same router converting the connection from the fibre / ONT? And your just adding another Ethernet cable from an additional router, it’s like an extension if you kept adding to them, yes your house would blow up but the power would gradually decrease the more you add. As you’re just creating additional networks that doesn’t exactly work together so much more likely to cause interference making it less reliable than if you just used the ASUS setup. Glad you got a swift response from BT! Keep up the great vlogs.
I've always fixed stuff myself you say so are sky q box what the mini 1 yet you can use that but the main skyq box will be useless without a card but as I think it's a mini box I had 1 in the garden for the football or I take it next door so she can watch films and what not sky is not cheap but as a company its brilliant we had sky for well over 26 years now with a year gap in 2015. Made a nice bit of cash when i talk friends into getting it and i get me 75 bucks voucher n they get a perk
Great episode, I am out of breath just watching. I am a bit of a novice with routers etc but any advice on improving signal around house as I only have a standard BT router and my signal can be poor in office at end of house (non existent in garden)??
Wow, if there's anything a guy who needs to keep his heart rate down could do without.
Moral of the story, dont shut the curtains when an unknown gardener is mowing your lawn
So glad you got everything fixed in time. Also, don’t worry about two down vlogs in a row - firstly this one picked up again, and secondly, it’s actually quite reassuring to see that other people have weeks where it’s just thing after thing after thing
4:51 There you go kids! If you want a shoutout from your favourite youtuber, become an open reach person and fix their internet

How fantastic on the companies part. Glad you got it sorted!
BIG up Sky, Open Reach and BT 👏👍🏻💪🏼✌🏻

I was holding my breath, too. I think my heart rate and blood pressure went sky high until it was fixed. Think about what this did to Kevin…

I don't know how you guys wake up every day and carry on with this internet stuff.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry during this video! SO glad you were able to get it repaired in a timely manner. I have had similar things happen so I totally understand the frustration and stress involved.
I personally can’t say enough about Open Reach, had two amazing engineers to install our Fiber Optic system, brilliant lads

next time you hear the mowing guy outside go out and tell him or her to be careful
can't believe the guy that caused the problem did not own up, he must of known he cut the cable

Saw the title and had to watch instantly
Same lol ☺️
Same!!
I saw it on twitter the day before this vid came out
create a mobile hotspot for Andy on your phone
Kev I am happy it is fixed now mate.
Are you sure that house is not cursed?
Phew!
I was thinking Andy will get his premier inn stay early, but I was relieved that it all got fixed.
so happy for you all. when I saw the title I was read to cry for you all

So sorry you had all of that stress both! But so glad everything worked out with a quick turn around from the network providers 👍
I'm glad for you and Anna Kev.
When our Internet craps out it's always destroy time , and breathe
Oh no. Andy is not going to be very happy about that.
Well done Paul and Lawrence
The relief on your face after following your tweets all morning!
Haha that face: We have no internet😅😅
Buzzing for u mate smashed it 👍🏼
I wonder how you would cope with an actual crisis.
Bless Anna looked so relieved

Must be nice. Took us 3 and a half weeks to get sky and openreach out
Lol
Next vlog: Our House has burned down
What with Friction Burned Under Carriage and now a cut cable, you are having an absolute blast this week.
This is badly done, the fibre cable is exposed again. The capping should have been removed that is covering the copper and the CSP fitted there.
I think that blouse really suits you Kev and congratulations on getting everyone round to fix your stuff too! What great service from all companies part x
This happened to someone I know. If it was the local council you can claim off them and they will give you money.
Cut your own grass or cover up the cables...
First World problems
I'm so sorry all this has had to happen to your family, you did absolutely nothing wrong to deserve this!! I really hope you get a stroke of good luck in the future🥰
Put a border partition up between the wall and grass line to prevent the strimmer accidentally doing it again
Those wires were exposed and jutting out significantly. I can see a lawnmower turning around cutting it inadvertently.
It could be worth having a look at a metal cage to protect your cable
Would Andy watch his programs on DVD at all?
My dad worked in my garden once and cut through our telephone cables
Your having a full on time

Imagine even paying for sky lol
I know I3TV forever
Why is the cable not protected better? If its that important it would have been made safer from gardeners 😮
I feel sorry for you both, I imagined what would go (horribly) wrong.
I feel sorry for all of you and good luck with andy and I hope it get fixed on time
Aren't Fibre cables under the ground? we have fibre into the house and you cant see it going through the exterior of the house, cant they bury it?
Poorly fitted in the first place not just the gardeners fault I'd say
Its the gardeners fault - he cut it
@@gliderdan3153 I fit them as my job it was a bad install as well
Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no no😁😁😁😁
Put a wirer cage box over your Internet outside boxes.
Kev I am sorry this has happened buddy.
I’m so sorry for all this complete outrageous stress you guys have to put up with, ye just can’t catch a break!!!
Hi Kev, would it be possible to do a video on your WiFi set up that covers your whole house. I am sure I am not alone in needing tips to help. Thanks
You can also get those burgers at Iceland too.
nothing seems to be going right for you!
Maybe you could contact the local council to see if they could find out who cuts the grass at the front
I would make the lawnmower guy to pay for a replacement
Good job
What the heck is a TH-cam course when it's at home?
Well the course would teach things that youtubers need to know, why does it being at home matter?
Maybe put a flower pot a big heavy one in front of it

Wouldn't work for various reasons
@@gliderdan3153 What reasons? I’m curious to know. I’m in the uS so is this just a US thing?
@@momzillainnova The 4G signal in their area isn't very good and also Andy only likes using WiFi
I wouldn't let anyone touch my grass, always have to do my own after I had the same bloody problem after that I wouldn't let anyone go near mine!

Amazing!!! For the internet and tv
Losing cellphone worse ? At least someone fixers internet but you can’t ring someone to find your phone
Maybe Anna is right…’it is this house’…🤯
Aw man that sucks .
So sorry Kevin 🙏
Wow! Did he tell you he'd done it?
No.
Hope u get it all sorted mate 👊🏼

That cable should have been guarded. It's either the contractors or Openreachs fault
Agree, shoddy install ..cannot believe the engineer left it like this.
Does seem a bit daft to leave the cable exposed like that.

Did Openreach charge for their visit?
you can get them burgers from Iceland as well mate
I’m now 4 minutes in and I can say thank you Jesus!!!
ouch
Maybe you can tell him to not cut the grass next time he comes?
