This is a really great video. I'm an ESL Teacher from the Philippines, and I have learned a lot from this. To anyone who's taking IELTS, I'm wishing you a successful one.
She is communicating well .Her pronunciation of the words is understandable, it doesn't have to be perfect. (ie Photography).Even Natives speak in different accents which sounds totally different ( ie six sounds like sex in Scottish accent . Try having conversation with scouse , you will know she is speaking better English than them at least you can understand her better) Not everyone going to speak perfect English, Even my English coworkers still can not speak my name properly when I have with them for 20 years . I think all these English examiners has to high expectations. I also think these exams are one of money making techniques for government,. If individual can communicate well and you can you also can understand what that individual trying to say its not a big issue.
And she's using short sentences, doesn't really elaborate much with her ideas. A simple yes or no with a little bit words at the end will destroy your score

I totally agree. If this girl could only get a overall band 6.5, my score would probably less than 5, course, she's way more fluent that me, throughout her speech, I hardly notice any hesitation related to content or language.
Personally, I think that she deserves at least 7.5. Of course, she has some difficulties with her pronunciation but her lessons are complex and vocabulary is not common at all. I think that ideas are good as well It is unfair
As what Mark has just mentioned, some more depth explanations of concepts or ideas can be added in her conversation to allow her to score higher. At this stage, to seek for a higher score/band, she needs more skills to do extensions or explore more to concrete and sustain her stand/ theme . Etc... She would like to point that......why..... Any example to support the reason.... Specific examples regarding your own condition or place would be great... Don t just go some GENERAL IDEAS... it's so superficial... It d better go more deeply by using some reasons specific in your own condition.... Examiner may want to know more about HOW YOU ARE THINKING.. AND WHY... but NOT in A GENERALLY SPEAKING WAY In other words, don t just give brief comments without saying anything... ... Voice is rather flatted.. No pitch at all... Work more on intonation... That bored the examiner....

she already explained people want to be closer to the public transportation for that reason not preferring to live in houses. you interpreted her as she is taking literature exam. if the extend of her sentences is needed, examiner is supposed to ask further questions. She is capable of handling the questions easily. she deserves easily 7.0 points and may get 8.0.

remember guys only using advanced vocabulary will not get you band 7 or higher but you have to be very precise in grammatical structure also in pronunciation. I noticed she predominantly used present tense when speaking about past which held her down from acheiving 7 or higher.

@@vanikokul2076 I too found writing hard. Check all the videos on E2 for essay writing. I didn’t check other TH-cam channels used only E2 ones as I found they are the best. Check all Jay’s videos. They give you all the tips and the format to follow. Do many practice tests as possible.

I dont agree with most mistakes pointed out in this interview. I literally got an 8.5 with basic grammar, no complex words, and no phrases at all. I believe it's important to take it as a conversation instead of a test. Just make a good connection with the interviewer.
The evaluation method for the correction is just on the edge of being suitable for native English speakers, which isn't really the goal of the IELTS Academic test. I truly believe this has turned into a huge global business.

When you have a great English speaking level when not in the test, but fail to get a high score on it. It's often linked with confidence. At least, that's how I jumped from 6.5 to 7.5 in a week (my examiners were strict, I know what I am talking about).
This video is so good. I wish there was more content like this. I want to show this practice exam to my students. Is there a version without the commentary (just the raw interview)?

The ielts is not a piece of cake and it is a part of anguish , fretful, stress , pressure, complicate , furious . My friend told me that he was doing ielts he has decreased his hb from 12 g/dl to 8g/dl during stress of the ielts but when he left the ielts hb increased from 8g/dl to 13 g/dl be careful . If people feel under the weather so it is very complex .
Are you serious? Why is she getting 6.5? What more can you expect from a non-English speaker? She is confident, does not fumble, uses nice and not-so-common expression.

When it comes to Speaking and Writing modules, you might be underrated by human factor. So I try to get higher score in Reading and Listening.

I just wanted to thank you for sharing your valuable knowledge with us. I took the IELTS test on August 6th and I got band 7 in speaking. I had two weeks of preparation and I just watched your videos and practiced a lot on my own. You're hands down the best! 🤩 The topic in my speaking test was: Choose a traditional product of your country and mention how it is made.
By product they meant meal or what?
