One of my favorite decks. My hands are always drawn to it. No frills. Straight to the point. So simple, yet speaks so loudly. The more I look at the cards, the more in love I get with the deck. It calls me in, like it’s trying to say that there is so much to discover.
I know the death card can be hard to look at as you mentioned, but if you look closely you can see the blood in the deer looks like little rubies or gemstones. I thought that was a nice detail. And something one would notice if they are able to face death/face the card long enough. They’ll see the treasure that death holds.

I have had this deck for awhile, I love it. The art is lovely and all my readings have been really clear. For me it has held up really well, I do riffle shuffle and read outside often. Great review Kelly
I just saw this deck and was happy that you had a walk through of it...it is now in my cart! I didn't quite get the peacock. I found several references online that one thing peacocks represent is balance, "...embrace self-love and confidence, don't allow yourself to become arrogant, vain, or unapproachable. Maintaining a delicate balance of confidence and humility is key." You were pretty spot on!

I made up a story (like the heroes journey but differnt) for my 7 year old with the major arcana. The man fell in love and got married (lovers card), drove off for his honeymoon in his chariot, but on their honeymoon his wife wrestled with a lion and it killed her. He was all alone so he traveled to the mountains to learn about life... eventually he went to court and was sentenced to hang, do he died (Im skipping bunch of things), and was imprisoned by the devil in a tower. When lighting hit the tower he escaped and found that his wife had been trapped there too. (In the end they were resurrected and sent to a new world) For some reason, I just thought of this little story when I saw the hermit card.
Of course I would find you lol I just discovered this deck this is a Kelly made me do it forsure! Thanks Patrick for inspiring Kelly to sell it too me 🙂
Thank you for such a wonderful and enlightening commentary on this deck (which I have purchased but not yet received) I agree with you re the Temperance card and you highlighted so many areas that I had actually not picked up on with several of the cards. Just a question if I may? You mentioned that you would have preferred yellow for the Swords suit and I'm wondering why you feel that way - I am a Queen of Swords and it is always noted that the Swords suit is all about communication, hence blue (Chakra) so I am intrigued about your preference for yellow over blue. Thank you in advance!!
I suppose it is because I haven’t really worked at all with energy of Chakra points until the later years and yellow was that traditional association I learned for the air element :) I can definitely see the point of blue, it just depends on what lens a person comes at it from :D

There's this dream I have been having for 2 years (I think) that I was doing a tarot reading but I can't really see what's on the cards. The only thing I can see is that the back of the cards is light green color (apple green). Green have been dominating my dreams ever since this year started. I wonder why...
I received this deck and had problems with some of the cards. I've read the book but still needed help interpreting cards like the Devil and Temperance. Thanks for your insights. I also would have appreciated a LWB and thumb holes in the box.

I have thought about it, but I would only do it if I had a backup copy. I THINK the borders might bring some unity to different art styles? Just a thought.

This is my second time watching all the way through - the first time it immediately went on my "Kelly Made Me Buy It" list, but I think it's coming off after the second viewing. I wish all of the cards were in the style of The Universe XXI rather than several cards being more minimalist like The Hierophant V. We'll see. After pondering Temperance, it hit me: Temperance cards are either like the RWS version - pouring elixir from one pitcher to the other or showing some blending of fire and water. This one shows the other two elements, air and Earth. Thanks, Kelly. Your work is very much appreciated.

I do agree with you about the two styles, it was the biggest part that made me initially decide not to get it, in the end I actually enjoy that part of it but every deck is not for every person and I consider it a success if you watch my review and figure out either way :D I do love what you said about the Temperance card, thank you so much!!
I think this would be very difficult to trim because there are different types of cards, they don't all have a border to follow in the trimming, so for myself, no. If you do, I'd love to see it though :D

I think this would be very difficult to trim because there are different types of cards, they don't all have a border to follow in the trimming, so for myself, no. If you do, I'd love to see it though :D
