Fuji XT2 while my stream income is around $300.00 a month. Absolutely stupid. Have still barley any idea how it works and it's probably did nothing except boost my ego for a week.
Hi! I’m a new TH-camr and was hoping I could have a little support! I started about 2 years ago and have already grown a successful amount! I do lots of cool vids and love and notice every single subscriber, thank you
Damn. Moral of the story is : Dont buy your dreams when it is a dream, buy it when it becomes your reality Bruh also why does harris not at over 1million subscribers he deserves it so so much Your my inspiration man. Keep rocking as always, Happy Streaming
I can’t believe how much I personally have grown. I just made the switch over to twitch from Facebook. I am not affiliated yet but I have done just what you said. I invested into my overlays and searching for my one thing to set me apart from everyone else. I’m always researching and even at work I am looking for deals on something I been wanting for my stream. Thank you for all the information in your videos. You have helped me out more than I say
Great video! My takeaways: 1. Understand diminishing returns 2. Understand what your content will benefit from 3. Make rational purchase decisions that make sense for your financial situation
After about a year as a TH-camr/streamer I've spent about $1000-1200, so I'm happy with where I'm at! I haven't quite made all of that back yet, but the majority of my costs were "start-up" fees for mic, lights, PC, etc so I don't think I'll need to spend that much again until I'm really ready to "upgrade" my setup. Love the videos Harris, they're always very helpful in keeping me grounded!
Good video man, thank you. I feel like this opens the door on bigger philosophical discussions on why we buy things and why new things that ARE the same as the old thing make us happier than the old thing.
1. Canon 5D Mk4 2. Blue Kiwi Microphone 3. 'Do-dads' - expensive gadgets that get little/no use, ie, drum pad 4. Fancy Electric Guitar 5. Tesla Note... In his Go XLR phase he was talking about buying 4 to daisy-chain, which would have been well and truly on this list
I presume you are not implying that one GoXLR is a bad choice. I just got a hold of one and am impressed with what it allows me to do just on a daily basis with my gaming let along with streaming. I am having a hard time finding any cons to having one as a casual gamer.
Camera: use what you need. I'm personally going to upgrade soon to something with better auto focus, but I bought a gorpo 8 at 35k subs. I've been using it since then.
im gonna get a c920 because it isn't bad especially with the settings Harris gave us and plus it can do the funny mic. okay its really just a funny mic with a camera on it.
Hi! I’m a new TH-camr and was hoping I could have a little support! I started about 2 years ago and have already grown a successful amount! I do lots of cool vids and love and notice every single subscriber, thank you
Harris I did the same mistakes months ago when COVID hit. I had my pros and cons on spending a lot of money. Watching this video made me realize a lot of things and I could’ve saved so much money. Thank you again!
Thank you very much... I am just starting some youtube videos and planning to stream sooner or later... Your experiences are sure to help my decision making when it comes to this stuffs... I am very greatful that I have found you and your channel... Keep it up and help all the beginners, such as myself, to be successful on something they really love doing. Sorry for grammar😢
I'm a left handed artist, and my tablet doesn't have hotkey buttons I can press with my right hand, so I actually bought the Stream Deck as a hotkey panel and it's been fantastic for that use. It was kinda expensive, yeah, but hey, I already have it now I'm actually looking into streaming, so yay lol. I have been looking into getting some Elgato Key Lights, but I just keep thinking back to this channel and it helped me temper my temptation and instead opted to get three cheap $40 panels, along with three cheap $20 desk clamps instead. So I basically got my entire lighting setup for about fifty dollarydoo's cheaper than it would have cost me to get one Key Light.
I bought a Tesla model 3 as well and it's the best car I've ever owned. My situation is very similar to yours only with a different occupation. I wanted this car and told myself that if I worked hard and got my Professional Engineering licensure that I would buy it for myself. Several years of hard work, lots of studying, and a grueling 8 hour tests later and I got my license. I bought the car with the raise I got for being licensed. It now is a reminder every day that my hard work paid off.
@@cryora It is quite a bit harder, but is also more specialized. Hopefully you will have gained a lot more knowledge in the field between the FE and PE exams. You can also use your own reference material (at least in CO) on the PE so I would study with your reference material and tab it to find what you are looking for faster. I studied for an hour a day every day for 4 months leading up to the exam and still didn't feel completely prepared. However I passed the first time. Definitely worth buying the practice problems and mock tests and use those to study and test what you need to study more. Hope that helps!
@@SeaOtterGamer Oh cool. I'm just a physics grad student and I was just wondering how things work on the engineering side. It'll take some investment for me to even pass the FE exam just looking at the topics, because I haven't studied those. Does the company automatically give you a raise for passing the exam, or is that something you have to negotiate for?
@@cryora Ah very cool man! So on the Engineering side it depends on your state. For CO it was an 8 hour FE test and then you have to work on the industry for 4 years. You can then apply to be accepted to take the PE. If you get accepted then you can take another 8 hour exam to get licensed. You don't automatically get a raise, but it is something you can negotiate for. You are now worth more for the company (depending on your position and license) and could potentially get a higher paying job elsewhere.
congrats Harris you deserve it man, you do great work and are my primary source for learning more about streaming. An entertaining and good human being. Streaming isn't going to be a career for me, I just want to reach more people in our community in a better quality way. And happy anniversary!
Thank you so much Alpha Gaming! Your videos are helping me a lot in making decisions in my streaming and content creation. Looking forward to see more of your vids!
I've got a Max Falcon-20 and a Kontrol F1, the F1 is borrowed from my DJ set-up. Combined with Voicemeeter they act as a Streamdeck and GoXLR using gear I already had. There's a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to map/program them to work together, but now I have that functionality without spending a lot of money.
Love the message in this video. It's been something that has been on my mind since "starting". Happy 7 years though man! It's almost been 4 years for me and my wife! Time flies bro!

Man i feel you so much... I love gear, especially music gear ! I love learning about gear specs. I love learning how to use gear. Learning about gear that I have and Gear that I don't have and probably never gonna use !!! I'm from a music background and I finally got my hands on a decent camera because I wish to be more creative and independant on the visual side of things. (video clips etc..) Grabbed a GH5, after months, probably a year of watching, reading stuff about it. And now i'm discovering Video/photography gear.... Oh boy....
One of the biggest purchases I made was a Magewell Quad HDMI capture card - $900! I had an AverMedia Live Gamer DUO, but it was glitching out and doesn't work with GoPro Hero 7 Black (of which I have 2). The amount of mental peace I've gotten from not having to struggle with tech issues was so worth it.
Out of all the people I've watched to learn and research setting up a channel, yours by far is the most informative and helpful. Thank you for the excellent content. God bless you and your family.
Thanks Harris, I was shopping for a mirrorless camera today and was close to buying the Sony A7iii today. This reminded me that it's not necessary yet for stream or my photography.
I feel like I’m being personally attacked like this is an intervention or Tech-aholics Anonymous. i wOuLd kNoW If i hAvE A PrObLeM. i dOn’t hAvE A PrObLeM. Seriously though, very relatable video.
I love the fact u just chase ur dreams and try whatever u love even tho it dosent work out sometimes.. Ur just like me u earned what u got, and u worked really really hard for it. Its not easy. You are a hard working man You are a Legend Man
I appreciate your open honesty with financials, it's super interesting to me. All well said, too. I've lost some hair the past few months trying to find the right camera to buy. Gopro, camera phone, or CAMERA camera. Decided no on the camera phone, though when I do need a new one, I'll get an older Pixel version for stellar photos. Your videos make me think I should be using a go pro with a capture card, especially because they're very low cost relatively, especially if I get a 7. I still think I'd like an expensive camera set up though. If anything I can still use the go pro for vlogging if I decide to, but I'd like an actual video camera for making music videos as well. Thanks for the insight.
I like that you point out, it's more about what you do, than what you are doing it with. Less expensive equipment can still capture great content. It just does it with less panache. Also how patience can win. Besides that, me having some patience has let me avoid impulse buys I'm glad I avoided.
Great video man. with nvidia broadcast it has helped change the game. I have had multiple people come into my stream and compliment me on my camera, when it's just a Logitech C922x. The background blur has helped a ton. plus I have watched alot of videos on lighting and settings.
Man, we can definitely bond over buying gear. As a 30 year old in fulltime work who's just started streaming, it's hard not to buy all the awesome tech that's currently out there...
You have an amazing gift of delivering information in a conversational way so that you are relatable to your audience. You also strike a perfect balance of educating as well as entertaining. As a small content creator with a nascent TH-cam channel, watching your delivery, persona, and brand in your videos is as valuable to me as the actual content of your videos itself. Thank you. Be well.
you have done so much for me i have cancer and when I am not feeling good I watch your videos our stream and it brightens my day thank you so much keep it up
A rather expensive purchase that I’m motivated towards personally and ironically is a camera. The EOS R is about 1800 but it fits my desires as a creator for TH-cam, streaming, and videography. Despite it being a little more expensive than I’d like to spend I do feel the ROI is worth it in the sense of all I plan to use it for
Thank you for the advice as always I am starting my streaming career I don’t know if it’s gonna go anywhere but I’m gonna try. My first investment will be in some cheap lighting. I really love the overlay pack you had designed Blue is my favourite colour. I got some birthday money I know it’s a luxury but I’m planning to buy a Stream Deck thank you for all your great advice keep up the good work and enjoy your anniversary everyone deserves a break👍✌️🤜🤛
This is excellent advice, should also be pointed out to most twitch streamers and TH-camrs, guys, 9 times out of 10 your "studio" is your bedroom, keeping your expenses as low as possible is the best thing. Even for bigger more established channels.
I bought a 2020 GMC Sierra and it was the exact same thing! I’ve made over 100k a year for 10 years, drove a 15k Corolla for years then a 20k Kia for years, being way below the “Jones” and got my dream truck when it didn’t impact my families life at all for the negative and it was sooooo rewarding
Love the video. I love buying things, but have learned that I need to wait until my stream starts making money. Also, I love touch portal. Still using the free version, so I only have 8 buttons (which I only use 7), but I'll get the paid version when the stream makes money.
woah, the time i experienced 5DIV being used was mostly for photoshoots. my old boss rarely used it for filming after getting the XC15. but when he is travelling alone to film and wanted to carry less, the 5DIV is a good alternative to film. but yea, it's heavy and we constantly had a tripod for it.
I'm glad you address the streamdeck, I've always disliked them because you can buy a cheap numpad or use the one you have if you have a full size keybord for more than double the functionality or even if you can't do that shift + any key you want is a relatively easily macro to get used to using. On top of that I own an Apex RAW now know as apex 300 Keyboard (they rebranded it for some reason). it has 17 programmable keys and those can also be macrod in the steelseries engine to longer key press chains like Alt + Shift + P that also work in OBS naturally. It also has 2 different profiles you can easily switch between so the possibilities feel almost endless with it. best thing is it cost about $70 USD at the time, shame they don't make it anymore I really want a new one so if people know of something similar in production that'd be pretty sweet to know about.
My best investments: 1) A decent pci-e magewell dual 1080p60 capture card 2) Canon SL3 refurb via Canon's refurb sales site 3) Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 APSC lens used via KEH My lighting is simply two Philips Hue bulbs set to daylight in lampshades that are wide and flat. Everyone in my live streams and on conference calls freaks out about how good my video looks compared to everyone else. I would like a streamdeck at some point but I don't need it now.
Since I am a low/fresh streamer while being a voiceover artist with a "student budget", I do have regrets on gear I -didn't- buy/get when I first started streaming, meaning that I went for super cheap/DIY stuff. Now, while it's good going for that option quite often, especially when you're not earning from streaming, getting the proper and affordable gear for certain areas is...well...something that'll do you good over time and worth the little extra cost that'll save you a ton of frustration as well. I'll drop an example: A proper boom arm! I experimented here with a little. I first got a cheap one from eBay, but that turned out to be worth nothing. I then got those IKEA lamps and made a DIY boom arm from that. Nope, it was just not working for me. So, I gave up, saved up a little and went for a more proper boom arm instead. In my case, that was the Røde PSA1. It's steady, solid, practical (not in my way when I am not streaming), adjustable and works with all of the mics that I have, whether it's a dynamic, a condenser, heavy or a light mic. It's been working brilliantly for me! So, saving up for the more proper things in various areas can save you a looot of time and trouble, while it's also a practical and not a costly solution for you, I reckon is the way to go. Do note that while there are other proper options available over in the U.S, here in Europe, there aren't that many "proper" alternatives that are also affordable. TL;DR: Basically, map out what you need, save up a little bit extra to get the "next step" equipment straight away, especially when it comes to essentials. Get DIY/cheaper options in other areas where it's more useful to do so. You'll save money over time, for sure. :) I hope this helped somehow. It's just my experience as a new streamer with a "student budget" to live with. Also, thanks for another awesome video, Harris!
Ok, so I'm using the Sudotack st-800 for a mic, it's a whole kit for around 60$. Most people wont notice a difference between this and a pretty expensive mic, it is just that good. Highly recommend it!
Make a video on things you need for streaming, for example -pc 1500$, rtx 3070, ryzen 3800x -2 27inch monitors -desk 200$ -rode podmic 100$ -go xlr mini -sonyA6000,16-50mm kitlens -lights (key, flod, rgb lights) -ergonomic chair -mouse, keyboard, headset -stream deck or hot key num pad - aucustic foam All under 5000 dollars Edit: different budgets, under 2k, 3.5k, 5k( my budget)
Honestly, probably my Xbox. Running a gaming channel that 'til then had a hyper focus on Nintendo I bought the Xbox as a way of expanding the remit of the channel. In reality, doubling down on the niche (not that the world is short of Nintendo TH-camrs and websites) and specializing has seen much better returns. Find your niche and own it people! You can always add more once you're successful!
My biggest gear pet peeve is the audio foam. The panels look ok, but don't do a thing for the room reverb. If you buy the 2-4 inch panels with insulation inside of them then that makes a huge difference on room reverb. That's a lot more expensive though. Not sure it is worth it unless you're an audio producer.
I’m always a sucker for what’s the best... when I started making music I spent WAY more than I should have but it also prepared me for the future. The amount I actually use it all doesn’t make sense for what I spent. But, I loooove gear.
Funny enough, I up graded my old Nikon DSLR for photography. Old camera didn't have a live preview or video and I had that camera since high school. So I bought an Alpha 6400 and do not regret that purchase. Didn't start streaming until this year. The only thing I spent for streaming was a HDMI to display port. Everything else I already had.
I like the faster cuts between clips. This feels a lot more like your personality. The older style’s cuts felt a lot like your editor’s way of speaking
I love the camera point, there are plenty of big youtubers who still only do 720p videos at 30 fps, as long as the video isn't terrible it doesn't matter
*I think All Content Creators have this issue, I started off with just a cellphone and then a handycam of course this was when TH-cam was just starting off, and Now I'm happy with the current Gear I have of course I've upgraded to much better Camera's and Now I'm starting to put my TH-cam/Gaming/Content desk together of course it's not going to be as HUGE as your setup or other twitch or TH-camr setups, but it works for me and I'm good with it, but I think people do focus to much on gear and they want that $2K camera in a Budget price and that's fine an All but if you don't have the money, just use your phone put content out there and grown and when the time comes you'll get it. *
A Shure SM7B with (2) Preamp boosts (Soyuz Launcher and Cloudlifter) and the V3 Vocal processor with the 12 channel mixer. I probably could have used the $50 MXL770 I already had. I bought so much stuff!! So many mistakes!
Harris, do you have a video talking about creating good TH-cam Descriptions?? I feel I just do not understand the “right” way to use descriptions. Love your videos!!!
My 200 dollar stellar x2 mic is way better than what I payed for in terms of just speaking. When it comes to music, well I’m not actually sure because I’m not great at production yet. I’m doing so much camera research I’m getting a headache so your videos help a ton. Hope I can find something sufficient without buying something wacky.
Immediate buyer’s remorse happens. I bought a new camera over the last weekend to get a better visual upgrade to my stream on Twitch and make professional-looking content. I had used a Logitech BRIO which was fine enough. I’m sitting here thinking that I’m not using my new Canon EOS M50 enough to justify its purchase; but nah, I always wanted a semi-professional DSLR for a while and was happy to buy one I’d been eyeing for a long time.
I generally follow the rule that if I will use it a lot it's worth spending more money on. Usually works out and makes it clear if an upgrade is really gonna be felt. Doesn't always work but usually helps.
Thank you so much. I have been using StreamBeats on my channel since I found the channel. I do get compliments on the music and always thank the man that made it possible in stream. Again, Thank you.
I only stream every now and then. BUT! After an okay mic and a okayish webcam i bought a streamdeck XL. The main reason i got it is to use it with voicemod. My voicechanger and soundboard is what makes my stream mine and the streamdeck makes it soooo much easier. Before i got it i had to remember a good 50 hotkeys and now i can just look at the pictures. I wouldnt say a streamdeck is a good purchase for everyone but for my, how much easier it makes using my voicechanger and soundboard, it was 100% worth it. Currently saving money to buy the wave 3. Sadly new cameras / webcams are still stupid expensive.
Just bought the BMD Pocket 6k to also use it for streaming and TH-cam....except that I'm mainly a (non-TH-cam/ Twitch) filmmaker already making money from it. Also bought expensive PC hardware (including an RTX 3080 I haven't received yet and probably won't anytime soon) .... .my mic was cheap AF though and still sounds amazing, it was a 30$ condenser mic with a 30$ mixer and my headphones are Superlux budget studio headphones. I always try to find the best cheap gear and the Superlux headphones are amazing for the price.
I was so close to investing over $1000 on converting to a nice XLR condenser mic setup when my old gaming rig was starting to struggle hitting 60FPS on new games at 1080P WITHOUT streaming, let alone when I hit "Go Live". The headset mic I have actually sounds great with a filter and compressor setup in SLOBS. Baldur's Gate 3 drops 90% frames on the old rig when I stream, but I can get 50-60 frames max settings from it if I don't stream - kind of defeats the purpose. I have to play in like 720P with settings on low to stream it and it still drops frames as do most other modern games. Not fun. So instead of XLR, I built a new gaming rig. The problem is now the GPU, since normal people can't buy RTX3k series cards right now, and I can't justify spending stupid amounts of money to a price gouger for an outdated RTX2k card. Interesting times we're living in for aspiring streamers on a budget with outdated hardware.
As a cinematographer, I love buying gear and also browse Amazon Au (things cost more even after currency conversion here) and can't buy cause budgets and stuff. I only have a canon 200d and knock off nifty fifty and I can do more than most people could do with a more expensive camera. I borrowed a 24 2.8 from a family member and will buy my own cause I realised I need more than an 80mm ff equivalent
As great as the Stream Deck app is for an alternative, it negates one thing. If something happens to your phone, you have no stream deck anymore. If you have an actual stream deck, nothing it likely to happen to it unless your home blows up or goes underground from some massive earthquake.
For cameras I found that Nvidia broadcast made my Webcam even better. I can have a blur background which regular and pro cameras can only do. Broadcast gave me a wider angle and seemed to up the resolution, but it may just look better with all the features, so try Nvidia Broadcast with any Webcam and see how it looks
Small and hobbyist streamers should focus on saving both time and money. Save money to buy things that will save you time and heartache. Case in point for me is the GoXLR (the fat one, wish I knew the mini was coming). I work a job, a side gig and I have a 3yo. I don't want to spend too much time fiddling with audio levels and I'm a console streamer. The GoXLR was a no-brainer. Don't spend money on expensive cameras and mics like Harris said. Totally agree. Upgrade when it makes sense or you can afford to splash out. Don't buy things you can find cheap alternatives to. Elgato Keylights are great but you can literally get good lighting at a third of their price.
Sound proofing a room is so much cheaper than people expect. I do freelance voice acting, and I sound proofed my booth with 2 foam mattress, a quilt, and a thick blanket. I spent $0 on soundproofing.
I’m calling it- 1. Rtx 2080 Ti 2. Gaming chair 3. Mic that costs more than a kidney 4. DSLR 5. $1k fiver stream designs Edit: 2/5- was not expecting car to be in this video
Yeah, but the problem is that there’s a quality sacrifice. I use like an $80 office chair and it’s really comfortable, stain resistant, and sturdy. From most gaming chair reviews, well built, good quality gaming chairs cost $300+. My personal opinion
Don't underestimate the value of a good gaming chair. Mine was $350 and worth every cent. No other office chair that I found was nearly as comfortable.
I’m not discrediting gaming chairs at all, I think they’re actually pretty cool and i know a few good ones. It’s just that it’s not something you should even think about if you’re at the stage that I am with yt/streaming
I regret buying a Sony A6000. The camera has a weird "auto zoom/focus" shake thing if you go in too far. The Camlink and Elgato HD60S don't work together....for some reason. The capture software doesn'like both running at the same time. So I bought an AVERMEDIA card to combat that...and it died within a month. I switched back to the BRIO for ease of use purposes, and the Sony just sitting in the closet somewhere...so dumb.
I can’t believe i didn’t see this before! I think the title is not helping, because everyone else uses such title talks about stupid stuff. But this video is soo helpful especially with making financially sound decisions.
I bought a GoPro hero 7 black for streaming and also got a capture card and the gold price is laggy can you make a video about which cobras the best for streaming with the best colors I did purchase one of the latest ones because I was selling your videos and I'm so pissed and slaggy I can't use it for live events like the frequency so laggy so I'm looking forward to buy one of the newest cameras for streaming it has a clean HDMI out? I would love it if you could make a video touching about this topic
Interestingly enough, I don't regret my purchases (anymore) now that I am using them. But, years ago I had this idea that I was going to be a vocalist doing covers on youtube because it was a huge thing then. So, I bought a Rode NT1-A, sony monitor headphones, lighting, backdrops, etc. I went all out using money that should have been used for other things. I made ONE video that was poorly edited, and took a ton out of me time-wise because I was inexperienced. I stopped making time for it, and the stuff got boxed up for a couple years before I decided to use them on my computer for gaming. So, they got some use but not for the intended purpose. Now that I am streaming, it was awesome to already have some of that equipment on hand because it made setting things up easier. Since then I have been very careful with the things I am buying because of that experience. Though, I am still resisting the urge to buy more lighting b/c I work in a SUPER tiny space, and the 2 big softboxes I have are just too bulky for the space. But, they do their job well, and I need to keep that in mind and save my funds for something more valuable.
Yeah. The main reason why I upgraded my camera was because I didn't want to deal with BSOD's anymore. LogiTech drivers suck. Honestly! They're from 2012!
Purchases I have seen friends made that I call them idiots for almost every day: Streamlabs Prime Any overlay they could have just made themselves, Buying anything from Indian men on fiverr (if you want something from fiverr dont buy anything from an Indian man because its usually a scam and dont type in "twitch" or "overlay" into the search bar, hire a photoshop/graphic designer)
I had an old gaming mouse that I didn't like, when I was setting up scenes and stuff for streaming/recording, I noticed that I could use the "key combination" option in the mouse software in order to use it as a streamdeck. The mouse was like $10.
I browse often, but never buy what I don't need. What annoys me is when I do buy what I need, what turns up is a lump of useless garbage that isn't what I ordered and is more expensive to return than it was to buy.
Telsa is one of the best purchases I've ever made, for so SO many reasons. Financially, environmentally, and even mental-health wise (road rage is COMPLETELY gone - throw it on auto-pilot and just not give a damn about what other drivers are doing).
Ive been following you for a few years, I don’t comment too often, but I think this is an incredibly powerful video. And i say this also being in my 30s
Time to come clean. What is something you bought for your stream setup that you regret?
a mixer for 50K
Havent bought anything yet 😂😂
I buy hardware to do reviews and I barely have time in the day to do the damn reviews so I just have new stuff lol
Did it take you 6 hours to upload this video?
Fuji XT2 while my stream income is around $300.00 a month. Absolutely stupid. Have still barley any idea how it works and it's probably did nothing except boost my ego for a week.
Next you should do a “5 things that I bought that helped tremendously
one of them will be "video editor" for sure. if it's not ill eat my shoe on stream
Nice!
yeah do this!
@@dancefreddydance ngl i really wanna see that

Damn.
Moral of the story is :

Hello dude what's good
I can’t believe how much I personally have grown.
My takeaways:
1. Understand diminishing returns
2. Understand what your content will benefit from
1. Canon 5D Mk4
2. Blue Kiwi Microphone
3. 'Do-dads' - expensive gadgets that get little/no use, ie, drum pad
4. Fancy Electric Guitar
5. Tesla
Note... In his Go XLR phase he was talking about buying 4 to daisy-chain, which would have been well and truly on this list

@@DarkerSavant No, it'd definitely be about the choice of four.
Camera: use what you need. I'm personally going to upgrade soon to something with better auto focus, but I bought a gorpo 8 at 35k subs. I've been using it since then.
Imagine actually being able to think of content and gaining subs lol
Nice to know! I take it focus for your content is in post?
im gonna get a c920 because it isn't bad especially with the settings Harris gave us and plus it can do the funny mic. okay its really just a funny mic with a camera on it.
@@rociscool I've used a C920 for like 5 or 6 years, great cam
@CHEFPK you're everywhere man, i love it though
New Guitar Day is best day! Excited to see the new beast, and congrats on the long-lasting restraint 😉
New guitar day is definitely the best day, I'm in love with my Legator N6OD. When I got it I was so hyped.
How is it compared to the FE exam?
(video clips etc..)
Grabbed a GH5, after months, probably a year of watching, reading stuff about it.
And now i'm discovering Video/photography gear....
Oh boy....
So close to 400k!!! Good Job! This channel deserves this
Great video! Happy anniversary to you and your wife!
Always good to see the face of Harris Heller when doing a ''5'' video.
yeah hes a handsome man
One of the biggest purchases I made was a Magewell Quad HDMI capture card - $900!
Thank you for this. Truly. Good luck in your move to youtube ❤
Underrated video, The first point being a camera and that its not what makes the video is spot on
You have an amazing gift of delivering information in a conversational way so that you are relatable to your audience. You also strike a perfect balance of educating as well as entertaining. As a small content creator with a nascent TH-cam channel, watching your delivery, persona, and brand in your videos is as valuable to me as the actual content of your videos itself. Thank you. Be well.
Yo, Big up.. Thank you for taking time off gaming & making these vids. You reduce the pleb rush panic's
Just wanted to say congratulations on everything , your work seems like it has finally starting to going in your way good stuff
you have done so much for me i have cancer and when I am not feeling good I watch your videos our stream and it brightens my day thank you so much keep it up
Damn, how's your treatment going?
Hope you beat it. Stay strong!
Hope you beat it man.
thank u all so much
@@JTSYT not great
A rather expensive purchase that I’m motivated towards personally and ironically is a camera. The EOS R is about 1800 but it fits my desires as a creator for TH-cam, streaming, and videography. Despite it being a little more expensive than I’d like to spend I do feel the ROI is worth it in the sense of all I plan to use it for
I feel that bro. If you have a plan then that makes sense. I feel like a decent DSLR is needed for good YT content imo.
I’ve made over 100k a year for 10 years, drove a 15k Corolla for years then a 20k Kia for years, being way below the “Jones” and got my dream truck when it didn’t impact my families life at all for the negative and it was sooooo rewarding
youll be at 1 million by next summer for sure. its been great to see you grow.
My best investments:
1) A decent pci-e magewell dual 1080p60 capture card
2) Canon SL3 refurb via Canon's refurb sales site
3) Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 APSC lens used via KEH
My lighting is simply two Philips Hue bulbs set to daylight in lampshades that are wide and flat.
Dope video.
Also HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Make a video on things you need for streaming, for example
-pc 1500$, rtx 3070, ryzen 3800x
-2 27inch monitors
-desk 200$
-rode podmic 100$
-go xlr mini
-sonyA6000,16-50mm kitlens
-lights (key, flod, rgb lights)
-ergonomic chair
-mouse, keyboard, headset
-stream deck or hot key num pad
- aucustic foam
All under 5000 dollars
Edit: different budgets, under 2k, 3.5k, 5k( my budget)
I have the 70D.. love it! Upgraded to the 5D mark 3! But me and the wife have a photography business. But I use the 70D for streaming!
Also looking at second hand market places you can get some good deals on preowned and taken care off equipment
Your video on lighting is currently helping me save hundreds of $$$ on a camera by sticking with a C920.
The logitech c920 with Nvidia Broadcast looks incredible tbh. when you blur the background it looks so impressive, with some cheap lights!
I love your honesty. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for making Stream Beats. I hope everyone has a great day ❤
Small and hobbyist streamers should focus on saving both time and money.
Congratulations on the anniversary by the way!
Sound proofing a room is so much cheaper than people expect. I do freelance voice acting, and I sound proofed my booth with 2 foam mattress, a quilt, and a thick blanket. I spent $0 on soundproofing.
just bought the apple ipad pro 11 inch. Upgrading from the 9.7. Sometimes you gotta invest in the right technology for yourself.
I’m calling it-
1. Rtx 2080 Ti
2. Gaming chair
3. Mic that costs more than a kidney
4. DSLR
5. $1k fiver stream designs
Edit: 2/5- was not expecting car to be in this video
The problem is gaming chairs cost literally ten times as much as an office chair for the same comfort level
DarkPotato657 ultimately it depends on which gaming chair you get. Some of the budget ones which sacrifice some quality aren’t expensive at all
Yeah, but the problem is that there’s a quality sacrifice.
This informative and inspirational. Dude. Thank you.
You could also go full cheap for the Foam stuff and put some egg-cartons on the walls where the camera can't see it.
3:00 it is the same reasoning as saying to a famous chef "you must have a wonderful oven"
2:31: Expensive Camera
5:32: Expensive Microphone (and other audio things)
8:15: "Do-dads"
10:09: Fancy Guitar
12:13: Tesla
Purchases I have seen friends made that I call them idiots for almost every day:
Streamlabs Prime
Any overlay they could have just made themselves,
Buying anything from Indian men on fiverr
(if you want something from fiverr dont buy anything from an Indian man because its usually a scam and dont type in "twitch" or "overlay" into the search bar, hire a photoshop/graphic designer)
Awesome video. I know I’ve been guilty of doing this to “improve” my stream. Keep it up
OH LOL I got the same guitar in purple burst! LOL! Love this Schecter Avenger SLS. The sustainer rocks!
INSPIRATIONAAAALL!!!! thank you stream doc!
I had an old gaming mouse that I didn't like, when I was setting up scenes and stuff for streaming/recording, I noticed that I could use the "key combination" option in the mouse software in order to use it as a streamdeck. The mouse was like $10.
happy anniversary to you 2!
Great Reflections!! Thank you!
Harris laying down the budgeting advice.
