I am one week sober from drinking and this song was a big catalyst in me realizing how fucked up I had become in the first place. I was literally crying my eyes out when I heard it the first time. I'm back here now to remind myself how bad I felt any time I crave going on a bender again.
Stay strong! I’m 7 months sober again, and I know the journey isn’t always easy. If you stumble, just get back up. It might take time, but I promise, there will come a moment when you see how much better life becomes through sobriety.
I’m in the middle of a 7 year battle with pornography addiction. I don’t know how to break free, it plunges me into thoughts suicide and depression every time I fail. Recently when I start to struggle with the suicidal thoughts I listen to this song and it helps me remember I’m not alone. The line in the bridge “these knuckles aren’t the shade of white needed in my fight to hold my self restraint” has been reminding me to reach out for help from my amazing wife and friends. Thank you guys for writing this song and pouring your hearts into it.
