  • I don't use this tool a lot but you can see the potential just buy using it a little. I pull this out to help with little odd jobs. And trim work. And for the Low Price you cant beat it.

I watched a video like this one and was so impressed that I went out to Home Depot and bought a Ryobi Multi-Tool. The first day I found three different uses for it, and within a week my son-in-law borrowed it twice! (I got it back in one piece) However, I bought the Ryobi because I already had the One+ batteries and I liked the idea of exchanging heads with the Rigid tools. One of the first things I noticed upon unboxing my tool was that Ryobi makes more than one Multi-Tool and - Ta Da! - the one I bought does NOT have a removeable or exchangeable head. Well, shit, but I am still really happy with my tool's capabilities and performance.

Sometimes you can get more life out of your cutting blades by reshapening them with a triangle file. They have to be the stamped steel ones, not the ones with the offset teeth.

RIGID is owned by Emerson and Ryobi is owned by TTI. Ryobi and Milwaukee are owned by the same company. I have no problem with comparison, but please make sure your accurate. Stanley Black and Decker own DeWalt, Porter-Cable, Bostitch, Craftsman, and IRWIN. I love the Ryobi tools, but never the less none of these other than Klein and IRWIN are made in the USA anymore. Even Snap-on is making some of the tools now in China. Hence I usually stick with either older tools I can refurbish, or Klein, IRWIN or older 60's Craftsman. Sorry to say I am stuck with today's power tools. but I do like the flexibility of the battery on Ryobi for some reason, maybe because my garden tools are Ryobi as well.

Sawing into wood takes a lil technique as those tiny teeth will pack with sawdust and leave burn marks or worse take the temper out of the blade
I have a project in mind a post and beam chicken coop that involves
Half lap joints and dados for boards
I will use a circular saw to make several cuts to the depth and width of the board and break out the wood between the kerfs the use a chisel to clean out the cut a multi tool would be perfect for this since all the kerf cuts will allow the sawdust to escape

the velcro covering the sanding head wears out very quickly, in fact the velcro wears out faster than the sanding pad itself forcing you to buy new heads, it's rather a design problem, and it just shows how crappy this brand is, consider buying a decent brand unless wanna play like kids

@Zen Coder not at all, I'm a simple home user, but very frustrated to see how quick those velcro heads are wearing out; meanwhile I realized there are not many differences between manufacturers in this regard, so I kind of chilled down. I have also managed to salvage some of the heads; they were not really destroyed, rather clogged with lint from the sanding pads, but nevertheless, very difficult to remove; I used a pressure washer
