I take care of plenty of different cats when the owner go into holidays, train dogs, took care of horses in the past (also ferrets, livestock etc.). I have my cats 8 years, they were always simply curious. Nothing more. Same goes to all the cats I take care of...they never react badly to other scents I bring into their territory.

My Cat scratched my son due to something similar like this. Just below his eye. He was 5 years old. I through her out of the window. We live in ground floor.
Two days later she was very loving and grateful to be home. Kept an eye out (pun) but she stayed loving 5 years now.
