Hi Adam! I was wondering if I can make a chart comparing a player just to their position for all time (every event ID) average for a metric. For example, I want to know the player's CMJ score over every event based on the CMJ average for every event they were a part of, then compare it to their position. Can I use the same equation we used here for player comparison highlights but take away the event ID?
I want to do this because my athletes have isolated events, and in-season they often don't test their jump on the same days as their teammates, so a given event ID only has data for one or two people. This has been an issue with a lot of the data is that the athletes don't always have every single person testing on the same day.
Sorry for all the comments! I guess my question is, how can I make a chart for the athlete's all-time average (which we have a formula for), compared to the rest of their team in their specific position? In my sheet, I only have 1 team.
@@saramanganelli3847 Hi Sara! This is a great question. Very thoughtful. To answer it simply, yes, it is possible. Rather than using date as part of the event ID, you could create a column whereby you manually assign the same value or string to the rows (e.g., events) that you would like to be grouped together. If you do wish to have temporal ranges, but they cannot be as distinct as dates, you could assigned "season phases" or something like that to ranges of dates (e.g., if you have 10 athletes test in the "Fall", but each testing session is on a different date within that period).
