Big Game on Topwater Poppers

Top water fishing is without a doubt one of the most exciting ways to present baits. For me, catching Giant fish on top water plugs and popping gear is such a blast. Tyler and Tiger show us how deadly these huge Savage Gear Panic Poppers can be for Blacktip Sharks along the coast in early spring. What kind of sharks are they? I never knew schools of sharks behaved that way. Think your clients would have pulled one to the boat if you had stronger leader or were you purposely not trying to land them?

Blacktip sharks. They jump and spin when you hook them and it makes them tough to land. We had 5 ft of wire and 6 ft shock leader of 80lb but they just got lucky today! It's usually not that difficult.

Capt. Matt Budd Damn!!! Tough buggers with cutting power 💥 I fish for Northern Pike and they too will spin up 5 feet of line real quick.. I usually only fish with 12” -18” steel leader and 30# braid but they can still wrap up and slice ya off, I enjoy your Channel homie 🤙🏽
