Cannot believe we only got 1 season with the DP-01 and then we were stuck with the C**pwagons for multiple seasons :/ Whatever you think about the politics of the split, they should've just given everyone DP-01s and carried on, they were head and shoulders above the Dallaras and Panoz in every conceiveable way: looks, speed, safety, driver challenge, entertainment level for fans. And yes, they could've raced on ovals.
Roger Penske could think about returning international races to Indycar in the future. I hope some day the Indycar will come back to: Japan Brazil Belgium UK Germany México Others. 😁🙏
IndyCar was the return, due to the reunification. IndyCar has some features inherited from the ChampCar, such as the tyre options for circuits (red and black), some race venues (such as Gateway, Laguna Seca, Portland, Long Beach, Road America, Toronto, Milwaukee), others. It was a shame the Indycars didn't want or couldn't use the DP01 Panoz cars. 😔
@@Iloveracing2007 another Indycar feature, inherited from the ChampCar, was the Vanderbilt Cup, given to the champions for fewer seasons, not longer given nowadays.
Fr?? Indy is the reason I started watching F1. It was the international tracks that made me fall in love with it. I wish Indy did an international circuit again honestly but maybe I'm just the minority.
@@nieko3038 fr! Of course I didn't really do a ton of champ car as a young kid (we did a lot of the IRL) because my dad hated any tracks that weren't oval😒 which in turn I guess proves the earlier point but I think that might just be the older generation. Even NASCAR is moving toward a "road-course" schedule now. But now I think a lot of American motorsport fans would really enjoy more variety in locations.
@ What do Nascar fans think of that? Stopped watching because many races are real late here. Too many occasions where races were cancelled due to rain while staying up for it. I do prefer Indycar on the circuits and roadcourses but I like watching the speedways. Not so much fan of the short ovals. Many people here in Europe (F1 fans) look down on Indycar. Travel and shipping would cost a lot of money. Question is if it is viable. Who knows what the future brings.
The timing of this and the Spa announcement is hilarious.
what announcement are you referring to?
@ that they are racing every other year.
@jaxonjaxoff3291 oh wow, that's awesome. I'm not sure why I don't see any posts about it on this channel, lol.
This is Zolder
@@MX5CupClips yep. both are located in Belgium.
Those DP01 cars were so cool. Shame they were only put to use for one season. (and an extra race, Long Beach 2008)
See you this year IndyCar!!🏎🏁

This is great but almost hard to watch knowing this great series would be gone shortly after ...
Champ Car ❤
Indycar at Zolder?? Weird and interesting I want international races

Best sounding cars!!
Timing is funny. This weekend is the Belgian cyclocross championships in Zolder
2:15 Bill Stephens looks like Jean Claude Van Damme old version
I was there that day as a kid These cars were LOUD!
Lots of audio glitches, hard to watch this
Have they ever raced in spa?
I am pretty sure they never did

This was one of Champ Car's worst ever races - not a single on track overtake
One and only Champ Car race at Zolder
Sadly IndyCar fans hating overseas races (too nationalism)

@@NobleWolf5 I wish IndyCar would do at least 2-3 overseas races. (One in Brazil, One in Europe, One in Australia/Asia would be ideal.)
As a European I like watching the US tracks.
Never knew they raced in Belgium. Doornbos is even from my country. Learning new things on a daily basis.
