Doug Ashley you have fair amount of subscribers you should reachout to dewalt or black and decker or your tool company you like and ask to teamup with them and they supply all tools needed for a job or for your full renovation and you only use their tools and feature and highlight them in return .... I am loving those walls the more I see them - I know you guys said it’s not what you want, but again, through the camera it feels like you’re in the middle of a cloud ... and the floors are just fabulous. There will be nothing left of this house to even remotely be considered modular once you guys are done!! ❤️

When you said how you were laying the floor and it depends how you want your floor there is no right or wrong way, that is how my husband was. He didn't care what anyone said he did it his way. So it reminded me of good memories. Love you guys and how you work together.

The flooring in my house I also laid the short way. A lot of ppl say that’s the wrong way but it doesn’t matter! My house is long and I didn’t want it to look like a bowling ally

I'm also very curious about how you're going to decorate while incorporating that rainbow colored curtain that she wanted to keep. I loved rainbows and unicorns when I was her age.

You know, you have enough scrap wood from the old chicken cook to build a nice workbench for yourself. I'm going to keep commenting about getting you off the workshop floor and onto a workbench as long as you don't block me!!

I vote for work bench too. When I see you on the floor I think, "oh my aching back". Make it easy on yourself. You have a long life to live and you need all your strength for the many more projects you have planned.

To each their own. Making ur living space look as YOU want it is key. Glad u pointed that out. As I have done renovations I’ve had people say I did things wrong. I always respond “no, I did things the way I wanted them done “. So great job guys. This is so much fun. Thanks a million for sharing it all with us.

Wow, That was a day’s work. I know you’re not really a diy channel, but you just helped me resolve a nagging decades old problem with a heavily used door in a problem spot and I thank you! Not to mention one of the best video angles on finishing those tricky spots with click laminate flooring 🙏🏽 The room is looking awesome.
The bedroom is looking great. I think your daughter will love it. She can put some of her own personal touches on it. She is such a sweet girl and truly worth all the effort you are putting into it for her. Cherish those moments yiu spend with your family. They are so important! Great keeping up with you on it.

I always enjoy your videos. Yes, you are working hard on the floors, it's your house & you get to lay the floors in the direction you want to!!! I'll never understand why people feel they must voice their opinions in a certain kind of way. You are showing options for not wasting materials & saving money. I think if you are making a choice to save materials, save on cuts it is for a good cause. Belle will be thrilled & she is most important. Doug, you are so right, do what pleases you! You're the one living with it, right. But having the flooring run the short way is good, because running them the long way would accentuate the long room and make it appear more narrow. The way you've chosen to do it should make the room appear a little wider & less long & narrow. Great job overall! ✌🇨🇱😁

You will always be glad you did things the way you want them instead of letting tradition or someone's opinion influence you. Just be sure you are always open to good ideas.
Doing the floor the short way can trick the eye into thinking the room is bigger than it is. Was told that by a carpet fitter recently.

Doug, love yalls videos. Don't want to sound critical but I've done it myself. For safety reasons your blade on the table saw was way to high to cut that rip cut. Please don't take this the wrong way. Don't won't to see a young fellow like you get hurt. Keep up the great work. Looks great. I had a board kick back on me several years ago and it was not pleasant. God bless and can't wait on the future projects.

I wish I'd thought of the screw behind the hinge, would have saved me a few headaches about ten years ago when I had to rehang some doors. The look on Belle's face when she sees the room should be priceless. Well worth the work.
Review it when you show it to Bell we would like to see her reaction when she sees it all done

Beautiful as always. Oh how I wish my husband had been a perfectionist.
I have thought that about my husband afew times through the yrs as well, but then I remind myself he and I both worked outside the home, and he always put in 40 or hours a week at the mill to which he is now retired after many yrs.
This young couple have all the time in the world to do projects luckily.

You are absolutely right about the direction of a mainate floor! I'm sure people were just woried about the traditional way the wood floors are laid.(thats what I'm guessing anyway. I think your floors look great! Also, excellent door install tips.

I hope you make a video when all done showing the before and the after so everybody can really see the difference and what can be done with a little hard work and planning.
You need to look into an inexpensive router to round over those edges. Save you a lot of time and opens up the possibility of decorative edges. Room looks great.
We used the router table to bevel the edge but the wood still needs a good sanding to clean it up.

Smart to lay the floor horizontally in a long narrow room. Makes it looks much wider. I know you want to surprise Belle (good idea). If you let her see it now (I don't think it will spoil the surprise) will just make her more excited to see the finished product. She must be so anxious. I know I am. You guys do such a good job of all your projects. They are well thought out. Good design does not have to cost "an arm and a leg". Rock on

It would be so cool if you have an IKEA up there. Their furnishing are so cool and I have in the past driven to Ohio to go to one.
