The Valiant with a Slant 6 has to be the sensible choice.

Valiant 6 with Torqueflite was hard to beat, a particularly solid generation of that car - peak era for Mopar quality.

In Canada, the Chevy II, was also called a Pontiac Acadian, a rebadged Nova.

My mother's only new car ever was a 66 Nova. It was never referred to as a "Chevy 2"...Chevy only made this style for the one year. Maybe that is why they are so highly valued today.

Look at the slide right at the beginning. The Chevy II is shonw in a top of the line Nova V8 2-door hardtop. The other two are shown as lower-end 4-door sedans.

The Falcon looks five years later than the other two...

I bet the Nova was slightly more expensive. I'd buy one or a Valiant.

I bet you are correct. If the Chevy II was less expensive they would have surely mentioned it in the film.

Wow I want one ... where and how much?
I am not sure about that lacquer will out last the enamel paint through. Would they lie to us?
Maybe I should wait for the new 67 ...

      Good point about the paint.
I have all of the 1967 films as well and plan to upload them too. :) Thanks for watching.

Well, I was a kid when these cars were new. Falcon was my first love … and I’d still take it over the Chevy II or Valiant. Fun video though! Thanks for sharing!

Todd I’m glad you enjoyed it. I enjoy these types of films regardless of the brand. I’ve got a lot more of them to upload as I find time to convert them into a digital format.

1966 was the last for the then-current Valiant; Plymouth would introduce an all-new model the next year.

That ford 6 with the cast on intake, is that a tractor engine? Good luck running better carbs, like the ones on the Jags or Webbers.

The Falcon is so ugly it’s incredible these sold well. Imagine the Mustang cost about the same.

That was the full size line. Biscayne, Bel Air, Impala, Caprice were trim levels of the same car referred to collectively as "The Chevrolet".
