  • Kilmartin Glen has Scotland's highest concentration of neolithic - bronze age monuments and prehistoric rock art. Travel a few miles in any direction through Kilmartin Glen and you can pass through 5000 years of tangible history.
    In this video, we show you some of the highlights of Kilmartin Glen with visits to Nether Largie burial cairn, Temple Wood ritual site, Nether Largie standing stone lunar observatory, Ballymeanoch standing stones, Dunchraigaig burial cairn and Baluachraig Rock Art.

      Thanks Jerri... You'd be surprised how much effort goes into making these. My son is very tolerant of his Dad's inability to get anything right on the first take.

    I have surveyed these and lots of other ancient monuments throughout Scotland and have photographed and videoed the sun and moon rising or setting in line with them at different times. However, none of the Nether Largie Stones mark the northern major standstill moon. They do indicate the southern major standstill rising and setting moon, and the midwinter sunrise.
