How does that make sense if guard is inherently a worse position to be in? How can it be considering stalling if the person on top has such a big advantage?
Id say the guard has the advantage. Its like in cod where campers get barely any kills but never die. In a sport like bjj where one mistake can cost you the match that patient strategy is gonna be successful
How gonna end this? Finish every match with an ACL tear of the opponent? They should think about disqualifying for ripping that fast. Look for Gordon for exemple, he also finishes but without hurting his opponent
What the literal fuck are you talking about? Do you know what it's like being on a big stage in a combat sport? Things will break. Stop trying to ruin combat sports.
Agreed. Start standing, look for a takedown with wrestling, hunt for a sub from top. Only counter from guard. That's the most exciting scramble. CJI does it well!
I think the weightclasses of CJI wasn't optimal for the 66kg grapplers. Big difference in weight up to 80kg. In terms of recognition I think winning a stacked 66kg division has done more for him than getting smashed in CJI by heavier grapplers.
10:40 That escape is very nice.
Best european to ever do it
My vote, you can only get a penalty for inactivity from the guard. You can lay there and just wait for them to make a mistake.

Now we know Owen's last entry was the same one Cole did in Worlds
10:50 what is this armbar called? I am new to bjj
Owen jones best style in adcc future champ 💪💪
Takeover is a strong word
Popularity wise. He took over.

These guys are pros, if you are at a comp, you should know when to tap.
Are you for real ? Is the equivalent of saying a boxer knocking someone out giving him cte
Guard players be boring although very effective. Laying on your back the entire match only looking for legs is meh

@@ws43Levi almost won CJI just playing guard. If guard is what you’re best at why try takedowns?
Watch college wrestling then this is about getting to the ground and submitting, who cares how you get there.
Too bad he settled for this second tier promotion instead of CJI, or he might’ve actually made $.

@@byron_blissfr look at the size of him compared to say an Eoghan, Owen is tiny compared to him
Starting on the floor...this stuff is so boring. This sport is getting so lame.
There's always Nascar. Maybe that's more your speed
