  • Part 2 following the progress on the Schaublin 102-604 lathe.
All the wiring in the cabinet needed to be replaced, and we get the lathe running for the first time in my possession.

Thanks for the comment! I try to improve each video. I just checked your channel ans realised I had already watched a few of yours RE the Myford ML8! Nice stuff.

@@TinkerInTheShop Thanks. I have not done much with that lately. My main interest has to be metal work and lately the restoration of my steam boat which you can see on my channel. One day I will try and set the ML8 up in a shed for my partner as she likes the idea of wood turning

Hi, I love the restoration you did! I keen to see how you reassemble the bearing and the spindle back, hope you will do a video on this topic. BTW, do you have the manual operation of 102-604?

Hello, I don't know if you are the same person who messaged me via facebook, but I don't have a manual. This is the machine for sale.

Such a well-engineered machine - the only real noise was from the motor and the belt slap. Your back-geared version takes a W25 collet, correct?

The fan of the VFD is the worst noise! That will dissapear when I finish building the RPC as the VFD is only temporary so that I could test the wiring.
I plan on replacing the leather belt with a new continuous rubber belt which will reduce the "ting ting" of the metal stiches on the pulley and shouldn't slap as much either.
Yes that's right, Mine is the W25 spindle.
