Me and my dad were fishing big bend area for 2 days and we caught 50 trout one day in about a span of an hour and a half and the next day we went to the same spot and caught about 40 redfish the biggest being 22” in the same time frame. It was crazy
And......they just lowered our bag limit in Tampa Bay (South Florida region) from 4 to 3 trout IF we get to keep them at all after the closure ends May 31st because they are so scarce due to last years red tide. Who is counting these fish FWC/MFC? Trout are everywhere in Tampa Bay. I'm all for conservation.....but trout and red snapper are scarce/endangered? Vist TH-cam guys and see how many southwest Florida fisherman are catching red snapper that they are trying to STAY AWAY FROM! Needs to be a better way of counting fish and taking the politics of commercial vs. recreational out of the equation on the red snapper.
You're a hundred percent right. Red snapper are so abundant offshore, and inshore there's trout up the ass everywhere. I must have caught 50 trout last Sunday in a few hours. I know south of us got hit pretty bad with red tide, but I don't think Tampa Bay was affected as much. So I think they are screwing us over. Wish Tampa Bay had its own regulations. And once they reduce the bag limit from 4 to 3, it's never going back up to 4.

@@Engineer_Heathen I'm afraid you're right. Rarely do you ever see it go up (see snook,redfish).
