This is the first time I've actually enjoyed watching IHB go by there instead of sitting there aggravated. Think I saw a Norfolk Southern sneaking threw. I'd like to have that horn as a ringtone. Good Post. Thanks
@jet936 That's a slug. It's basically a locomotive with the prime mover (engine) removed, as well as the radiators, electricals, etc. The platform retains its traction motors. The slug is hooked up to another engine that's been modified to interface with it (a slug mother) and together, the locomotive and the slug share the power coming out of the prime mover in the locomotive. This puts less horsepower per motor, but with more motors, it can start up a train faster and keep it moving slowly
Do you know where those coal loads in the beginning were going? I saw a coal train broken up onto three tracks at the BNSF-IHB interchange "yard" north of the racetrack in La Grange last week and wondered the same thing.

Nice video!
What a haunting horn on NS 7118...

What's the first car at 0:10 ? It looks like a cut down loco.
I absolutely HATE that intersection in LaGrange!
