Invest in an air fryer! So much can be done with it! Chicken coated in egg put in fryer for 12 mins is amazing! Also, I have developed a love of mustard and and hit sauce for dipping instead of ketchup which is high in salt.
I myself get frustrated over the fact that some brands find it "ok" to lower the portion size to a microscopic scale in order to be allowed to label their products as low sodium, fat, ect... I think it's sneaky and sad that there aren't higher standards or stricter regulations on that kind of thing.

Eating vegetarian is not as difficult as some might think. I naturally progressively went to vegetarian just out of the not wanting to cook meat and the conveance of not cooking meat. I find I don't even miss it. Especially in dishes like chili or anything with mushrooms. Just add more beans or mushrooms, and you don't even know the meat isn't there.
I can do it with no problem. He is the meat eater.
I loved watching you work on her. It was like you were a make-up artist and you were applying her make up. Beautiful.

Can not wait for the mixed media!! One thing I have learned from you that I noticed these pencils have that my Prisma's and not even Poly's have is the white showing between the wood and the outer color. That's impressive! No white pencil or neons or metallics....yay!! You rock! And as far as the hubs....remember I told you I had a "feeling" the rest of your lives together would be the best? I can't explain how I know....it's a gift from the Creator.❤

I was working on the mixed media picture last night until 3 am. Then I gave up trying to finish it because it looks good and rushing will ruin it. I did this one at the last minute. Now I am hooked on this picture and want to keep going with it.

I'm so glad your husband is doing so well and that he's near his goal. To me, skin tone pencils are one of if not the most difficult tests for a pencil. I've mostly used Primas so the detailed comparison of colors to use and layering vs blending was very helpful! I must say these pencils look fabulous. You're able to create a very subtle and realistic skin for her. Every video makes these pencils look even better. I can't wait to color with them . Great video!

Odd what you were saying about his kidneys - I was born with only one kidney and am technically in Stage 3 also. But, for me, it’s my normal and I’m living just fine with it. Lori, this is beautiful. I would love you to do a portrait one on the tan paper to see which colors would work with that paper. A coloring stands out so much more when you color the eyes, the expression comes alive.
The news about your husband is really wonderful and I'm happy for you and your family. I never was able to get the deli pencils because they were unavailable. I'm excited to get these new pencil so I can start your blending course I did check on Etsy and I only see intermediate blending course. I always like to start at the beginning of the class do you have a beginner's class? If not no worries I'm sure I can handle the intermediate I've been coloring for a while now but I've only been self-taught. I wanted to learn the rules and regulations from the start. I'm vegan and found the Oh She Glows cookbooks to be very tasty. The author is Angela Liddon. The Oh She Glows For Dinner book has a lot of comfort foods made healthier. 😊
You should try Linda McCartney’s new cookbook. Paul and her daughters redid the cookbook for more modern times. I’m not vegetarian but would like to get that (after I get your pencils of course!) book to try some meat free meals.
You crack me up! 5 minutes into the video, she was already looking more realistic. It would take me days, even with grayscale, to make my page look anywhere near as nice. Faces still make me nervous as I seem to mess them up right near the end 😯
Mediterranean food is delicious! I tried going vegetarian, but I have major withdrawal from not having chicken, fish and dairy. Love my veggies and I will eat as much as possible but gotta have my protein animals!
So glad Howie is doing well! You cannot blame yourself for not checking out the salt contents after Howie shopped! Now everyone knows and you will all be more aware. The salad dressing with the quarter teaspoon serving size made me chuckle... this is how companies manage to charge for so called 'healthy eating' Using fillers and preservatives helps them increase profits, but really messes with our bodies.

We are eating gluten-free again. Trying to find out why I’m getting migraines. My kidneys are at stage 3, but they don’t seem to be worried about them. I had Scarlet Fever as a kid, and are finding different health issues.

That kidney diet is brutal. My dad had kidney failure and his doctor had him on it for years. He died of something not related to his kidneys at 89. I only have one good kidney, so can totally relate. So glad your husband is doing well.
My mom and I are on the Mediterranean diet/lifestyle. I am on in because of my autonomic nervous system disorder and my mom is on in because my mom is prediabetic. Pinterest is your friend! I love the Americas test kitchen cookbook as a intro into this cooking way of life, it was a research info book and recipe book all in one.
Geez how Amazing are these pencils. Omg the colors are so beautiful. You make it look so easy for skin I have always struggled with it. I love grayscale though but I still struggled with doing it. I know from experience with both my parents and my ex husband and my mother in law (ex) I cared for all of them 24/7 for days at a time I cared for my Mom for a year she lived with me she was bedridden had fluid on her brain she didn't know what anything was just knew me and my kids and her grandkids. It was a form of dementia. My Dad had diabetes he then went into renal failure he was on dialysis for 5 years before he had a heart attack during dialysis he then was in the hospital they called said he wasn't able to stay in the bed they didn't want to tie him down they were short staffed they asked if I could stay the night with him. My Mom and I went up we were asleep it was 2:30 a.m. he had another heart attack they rushed us out of the room and started CPR on him they got him intubated and he went to ICU they had him on the ventilator for about 3 months they said his organs completely wasn't working only thing keeping him alive was the ventilator. I agreed he wouldn't want to live like that so they shut off the ventilator. He was 62. Mom was 81. So it's not easy. You are a strong lady. Thank you Lori for all you do for us. ❤🙏
Really enjoyed this vid. I want to learn more about skin tones, especially with the new set as I plan on getting one as soon as they're up for sale. Lori, have you tried lemon as a salt substitute? I use it a lot, as well as lemon pepper.
That's how I have been replacing the salt. We use lemon.

Have you checked out the DASH diet? It’s low salt high potassium diet for cardiac & renal patents.

Received my Star-Joy pencils, yeah! However, while swatching I found I have two coffee cream - no palomino. Also, two spearmint and no misty morning. Not sure who to contact about getting the two I am missing. I believe I have one of the 1st 100, numbered right to left. Thanks
I am in stage 3B and the renal diet is tasteless without spices. Learning to like garlic somehow. Happy you don’t have to follow the renal diet.

I found working with my pencil set the best is prismacolor but I also like Derwent Ivory Black.

If my bird hears another bird she automatically sings to it. Since her partner died I have been putting on parakeet sounds for her for a few hours a day. It perks up right up.

Yes, actually I kept going with this one and I am giving her much darker skin.
I just looked it says that the Star Joy Gold are no longer in stock they don't know if they will ever be available again is that true they are all gone already? I was hoping maybe in November I might have enough time to try and see if there was anyway I could possibly get them in December just hate if I have already missed out on them 😕 😐 😥 I don't know if I can or not but I'm sure wanting them if I can figure out how to pay for them. I wish I had enough money to just order them when they first were available 😪 😔. If you could let me know if they are completely gone already I would appreciate it. Sorry to bug you about it. That's how badly I want to get them have a big set would be so wonderful.

Hi Lori .I have been a vegetarian since childhood. It was because I was raised by grandparents who had experienced the Holocaust as children. My grandmother had vowed that life was too precious to her to eat other living beings. Therefore, except for eggs we don't. My husband came from a family with a long history of cardiac disease. So he has been going along with it. It really is a lovely way to eat but taking a good B vitamin complex is vital. Of course you know that. If you have any questions that I can help with let me know. Also there is a magazine called vegetarian times that can be a big help. So glad your husband is progressing well.
