Why don't top level terran players keep 4-5 hellbats in their army as frontliners against zerg? It's always stimmed marines+kiting and pickup against speedlings, and it doesn't seem to do that well.

in the last game, clem was trading even to slightly worse while not going widow mines. magically, he starts winning when he starts building widow mines. It's pretty clear that the meta is just "build marine/widow mine". Now that marines have no counter from zerg (banelings nerfed into the trash can), all you need is marine/widow mine push zerg 4th base and win.
Not sure about that one, but I agree that Widow Mines have been fantastic against Zergs at high lvl, even more so than tanks, or to be more precise, they are about as good, the Widow Mine just happens to be way way cheaper so way more effective.

Ofcourse... Blue flame fully upgraded hellbats don't one-shot zerglings anymore.
It became a trash unit, that 1 damage is huge, as cracklings do absurd amounts of damage in close range.
With hellbats being pretty close range too.
@@tobiasL1991 maybe having an instant AOE that puts all lings in 1 shot from your marines/marauders is still worth putting a few into the mix?
@@GameFuMaster Could be, but hellbats are much slower than stimmed bio, so they can't be used in Clem's style of terran for example. Or not very effectively.
Wow. This series made me lose so much respect for Clem. Relying on widow mines like that is honestly pathetic. Game 5's Cyclone build was pretty sick tho definitely admire that~
Yep, I agree. Widow mines shots are worthless and by knocking seers causes zero to loose too much units. Its just wrong.

Anyone and everyone is free to make their own content from the ESL replays. It's not like any of the TH-cam or twitch casters funded the tournament themselves.

I will start by stating that i don't play starcraft 2.
With this out of the way, i've been watching these videos by winterstarcraft for a while now, and it always feel like Terrans are always on a disadvantage, they units do less things, they take more time to build (as protoss can speed up their own build queues) and sometimes even less HP when compared to same tier/role units from the other 2 factions
I do think that i'm probably wrong, as i can only avail these theories by the replays of other people playing, but it's been a nagging feeling that i had since i started watching these videos, that every single time the terran players win it's either because their adversaries did something wrong, or because they are just that much better than their peers.
With this in mind, i ask you guys: How wrong or right am i on my accessment? Because these toughts have been worming their way into my mind constantly while i watch these casts to the point of lessening my enjoyment of the video itself.
Terrans are kind of a glass cannon race. Their units generally have the potential to do more sustained damage if used correctly whereas zerg has a lot of up-front damage and protoss units can deal a lot of damage but their units cost more and can be more elegantly countered. Terrans are a race that dictate the pace of the game, if they wanna turtle, the game will last longer - the opponent has little choice in the matter. However, if they want to go balls-to-the-wall and you are the opponent, it's up to you to keep up or they will run you down.

I'm actually waiting for starcraft 2 to hit Steam and i will probably buy it, if it's not too expensive, because i find the gameplay and themes very nice, not my favorite RTS, since i am way too old for all this APM (my APM playing BAR is actually 45 lmao), but probably on my top 5.

@kesvalk like@@Rendzio mentioned, sc2 is already free. some things cost money such as the 2nd and 3rd campaign, cosmetics, and some co-op commanders. however, most of the game is completely free
Terran seems to have no skill ceiling. You can always micro Terran to a higher peak level, and that doesn't seem the case for other races. Widow mines are low APM units that take vastly more APM to counter, so are fantastic, and almost never trade badly.
Zerg, on the other hand, all units are hard countered against Terran. But Terran takes a higher skill floor, where Zerg is often just A click.
It's kind of hard to tell, because Clem is so absolutley god-like, how balance falls, but Terran has been taking most tournaments lately. The only valid meta in ZvT is pretty much banelings, which were just nerfed, while Terran got more buffs.
Balance will hit Terran down a bit I think, and buff Protoss.

Ultrisk need buff , they are just one of the worse unit in SC2 zerg
