I've never seen a more clear explanation and demonstration of what to do to create a draw and a fade. Choosing a higher lofted club for a draw and lower lofted club for a fade was new to me. Thank you both!
Me too. I just thought it would be the same for every club!!
Cannot wait to try all of this out. Easily the best explained fade/draw video I’ve seen.
This is ONE HELL of a great lesson! I biggest trouble I have is minding the clubface; you've got to pay attention to it, every single time.
Agreed. Whenever I try to hit that exaggerated draw I have a really hard time keeping the face from opening and hitting it a mile right.
Have to pay attention to shoulder alignment too. Great video.
Great video!
The range looks amazing. I’ve never seen one so pristine.
Exactly. Makes me question the trash in my city.
Playa in cheif! We crushed 90 today!! 86 with a 41 on the front 9! 2 birds and 11 fairways!! No 3 putts and my best 18 hole score yet! Stress free 😄 and the 6 holes were in the pouring rain! Wadda life!
This has been a game changer for me. Wow! The game was already fun but its on a whole new level now.
Wow! Complete amatuer here, but this video explains so much more about ball address than I've ever heard. This will help me be much more intentional about addressing the ball and hopefully become much more consistent! Thank You!
This is the best video on how to hit fade draw. Made very simple and easy to understand.
Always a pleasure having coach in the videos. The Don Juan, the bees knees!
This was the clearest instruction I have seen on this matter. Lovely stuff
I would subscribe to a channel of Eric teaching people in a heartbeat.
Eric once again dispensing practical wisdom. Absolute wizard
Follow-up: I tried the fade technique on my drives and hit the fairway a LOT more often. Just need to work on power. Fantastic lesson
Fades are going to not travel as far and stop shorter. Draws should roll out much further since there is more top spin in the ball.
This is the first explanation that was crystal clear. Thanks. I will remember this forever.
Great vid. Wow. Would love to see you break out the Eric videos into an individual playlist. What great content!
after watching several youtube videos on this subject and not getting it, this was a perfect instructional video for me. I now get it! Thanks
Fabulous Matt, great content as usual. Eric is one hell of a coach.. Waddaplaya waddacoach 😎👍🏻
That guy is one hell of a coach!! His knowledge of the golf fundamentals is extraordinary.
Perfect timing! Just what we needed!
Fantastic lesson. I can’t go practice that today but I already feel confident that it would translate just after that video
Simple and understandable. I like the approach that you understand the straight shot better when you understand the curves.
the best instruction for learning draw/fade so far .. kudos
Unbelievable lesson. Tried it at the range today and I can just feel my handicap dropping. Bravo 🎉🎉🎉
So good. Great way of explaining these shots.
Wow, thank you very much, i went to the range today after watching this video last night and I did it, i finally did it, i hit a draw on command, i hit a fade on command, needs practice to zero in, but this is going to be a game changer for my round
One of the best golf videos I’ve seen
Yes Yes Yes Yes!!!!!! I teach this constantly, simply the easiest way to shape a golf shot. Physics at work, without science in mind. Awesome Content!
Thank you for uploading this Matt and Eric explains it in such a concise way that's easy to absorb, exactly what I'd been looking for.
I naturally hit draws with my irons but I recently started experimenting with trying to hit fades as well which unfortunately turned out to be a few too many slices - watching this video has helped me discover that the problem was with both my swing path and right hand grip.
Love the content you upload, please keep the good stuff coming :)
Very interesting… Thanks for this lesson Matt! (And to Eric of course)
Brilliant video made it so simple.. And TH-cam is full of all sorts of golf technique videos this one is dam good and easy
Great as always, and stay for the end! Lessons confirmed!
Love the video. Very informative for those of use who slice or hook the ball as well. Just wondering what sort of distance you would expect to get from the 2 different clubs.
wow amazing demo by this trainer loved it /looks like Table Tenis , circket , field hockey all this sports, ABC's applied to to this Thank you....
Wow. That works like a charm. Well taught
Great video, easy to follow (at least watching haha). Will try these next time i'm at the range
Wow! Great content ! Thank you! Respect !
What a beautiful grass range.
nice playa ! Thx for sharing this great method
Eric is a golf god, will be trying this at the range
Exellente wadda lesson 👍
This fellow knows his stuff. You build a feel model inside yourself that you can return to with a little visualization.
What was most
Interesting for me what the grip part.
Would be super interesting to have a whole short video on grip alone!
Eric is the man - and Matt is the chief
So I’ve been doing it correctly. Great video and lesson.
I have always though of these shots as tennis moves. A draw is a forehand, and a fade is a cut shot... admittedly this makes me fight my hands a bit in the swing, but I find it easier to scale back from too much draw/fade than to initially learn how to do it.
This bloke is a good coach. Would love to have a lesson with you, mate.
Wow
what a great video
Great instructions!
Question on stance/setup.
How much should gap should there be between front to rear foot?
I saw instructor just walked up and appears to be at least 1+ ft gap.
But in the fade, the feet gap was not as far.
The way my brain works and I can hit a draw/hook at will. I have to be aiming like said in this video, but my club face will also be square to the closed path and then I swing on that path (which will be inside) and I automatically without thinking close the club face at impact. I actually can hook it too much. Also a strong grip helps. The table tennis analogy is great too. I play(ed) a lot of table tennis in the past.
EDIT: Ohhh, the fade I struggle with and the grip change might be the reason with the trail hand. NICE!!
Amazing Video , thankyou!!
That range is delightful
That range is beautiful
Awesome video!!! Thanks!
The nicest range I’ve ever seen
Great stuff! No waste of time.
Such a nice range omg
This video helped me to understand why i was hitting pull hooks or draws that went to another solar system! i must and rewinded this video numerous times! i know it wasn’t rocket surgery but a simple change in feet alignment has got me loving this god awful game again! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’m the PLAYAH i was meant to be!
Man phenomenal
That was a great video!
Glad you liked it!
Matt, like a duck to water, man. Waddaplaya! Made it look easy.
This Best lesson I’ve ever had. Been playing since 2005. Shot 79 using this. Missed some putts and I couldn’t pull off this draw move with my driver and 3wood. Thank you.
Draw move will be insanely difficult with lower loft.
I suggest draw move with the 6 iron as the lowest possible loft.
Fade move works more and more with lower loft - anything from driver to 6 iron will move a lot.
Shorter irons don't fade as much as they can draw.
Drawing entails delofting so if you try with 10 degree driver, it will deloft the driver to negative degrees, probably top it or wormburner
@@GolfSidekick I believe you. Crazy thing I can draw the 6 and 5. But the 5 and 4 definitely produce worm burners. I’m gonna try to hit fades with the 4, 3 wood and driver tomorrow. Thanks.
Nice video! Fades and draws are very underrated, I don't really see too much people practicing them, only the best ones got both of those shots in their bag
Well said!
great video
Should add, lovin your content.
Every time I go to the range, I purposely try to turn some each way. I think everyone should try this while practicing. That way you always know where center, or straight is. Most would be better off shaping most shots one way or another depending on the natural tendencies. The straight shot is the hardest. Be the cool golfer that can shape shots toward tough pins..
Ditto
Easy lesson … thanks!
You figured it out quickly, the draw results from the relationship between club head and the swing path. Pointing your feet right can be a helpful way to visualize the swing path, but isn't necessary, as you remarked. Find the grip that matches your personal biomechanics and use that grip for every shot.
Amazing video. Face sends, path bends
Excellent!
Same thing with a driver ?
Hi, I'm new to golf and would like to ask about the shots being demonstrated, when you want hit a draw and fade shot on course, is that the alignment (stance) that we have to use as well? Great video explanation and greatly appreciate your input on this. Thanks
Great instruction. I actually have all those shots, just don’t know when which one is going to happen
One of the things I've learned is to watch the shoulders. A fade will tend to have the lead shoulder higher. A draw will tend to have the follow shoulder higher.
nicest range ive ever laid eyes on
I don’t know why but I’ve seen videos saying similar stuff but this one made it click!
Definitely will change my grip for the fade, that is my weakness, can always turn it over(draw) but fades are tough for me..
I find it incredibly impressive when pros appear to be square to their target yet still achieve a dramatic push draw.
This is exactly what I was wondering. Hole 13 at Augusta that goes left especially.
straightforward explanation, a great video. Now time to go to the range and destroy my normal swing lol
The draw is my hardest shot. It usually looks like a pull rather than a sling. Fade is my bread and butter. But I would donate a kidney for a practice ground like that. Eric is the man, I will be working on this.
The draw is my natural shot shape. I wish I could also hit a power fade.
@@norcalchrismeister I'll tell you what I do. Tee up on the right and aim towards the left hand 150 marker in the rough. Move the ball back about 1 inch in the stance, then I weaken that left hand so the thumb is almost on top of the shaft. Then hit hard and it will turn. Range balls aren't the best things to practice with. Try it on the course with some rubbish you found in the rough then if all you get is a straight shot into the jungle on the left no harm done.
@@thehairygolfer Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try the next time I'm on the course.
I have some house choirs tomorrow but F it! I'll go to the range instead and try this.
good vid
Do you alter the club face with your wrists or in the grip?
Thanks for sharing this GSK!!! Cant wait to go and stripe my balls straight into OB thinking i can hit a fade 😂
Hebat!
ze man iz a geniuz
Good shit
A+
Nice. Now let's see it with the driver. Yup, I can fade and draw a SW but no way can shape a longer club.
Please Show the Type of divot for the fade and draw . 😊❤
wow
This guys the dogs bollocks, well done playa in chief 🏴⛳👍
What part of the club head ought you strike?
Center
@@GolfSidekick I heard the sweet spot can tend to be a tad towards the toe and a tad up from there. Is that really the case?
Yea thats true especially In drivers
Good god, is that range in the Matrix
Thank you. This is one easy to follow for non professional players to shoot fade and draws. All the other videos teaching this same topic have you manipulate the wrist and angles too much. Too hard to be consistent.
🤯🤯
‘At Will’ being the important bit..😂. Mo practice 🏌🏻♂️
I could have used this a couple days ago. I was behind a tree on a few holes. I tried to do a cut shot on one of the holes but didn't have the mechanics right and ended up catching a branch of the tree.
Whatta shot! 😂
Is the grip different for the draw vs the fade.
@@TP18362 Yeah hit the tree, ball bounced further back than I started, but it at least bounced into the clear and I was able to salvage a bogie. Not exactly the way I saw it in my head
Does that setup work with the driver too?
i think so playa but you have to be very careful overcooking it because the draw/hook shot can smother easily due to low loft. best to be subtle with it
how does this affect ball distance? will it go shorter or futher?
i find 10 or so yards off a fade and 10 to 15 more yards on the hook
How do you aim the start line with this setup? Thinking about recovery shots where you have to get through an opening and then want the ball to move toward the green.
look so ezy omg
