  • Acts 27:1 - 44, Men, You Should Have Listened to Me
    January 19, 2025, S-1628-KL
Paul, with other prisoners, now sets sail under guard for Rome. Encountering stormy weather, the ship’s captain disregards Paul’s counsel to overwinter on Crete, a decision that leads eventually to shipwreck and the loss of all their valuable cargo. Fearing death, Paul exhorts them, “Men, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and incurred this disaster and loss” (Acts 27:21 NKJV). As Paul had prophesied, however, God spares all 276 lives who make it safely to shore on the island of Malta.
With maps, Pastor Kevin guides us through Paul’s treacherous journey on the Mediterranean Sea, sharing geographical and archeological evidence that corroborates the biblical account in every detail. Like the ship’s captain, many people today are too preoccupied with the temporary things of this world to heed the Scripture’s warnings of the judgment to come. In light of the increasing uncertainty of our times, Pastor Kevin encourages believers to rest in the knowledge that Jesus is our safe harbor and exhorts us to take every opportunity to urge our friends and family and turn to Jesus while there is still time.
    Maranatha!
