its been brought to my attention due to my brain disease of not reading the information the Bolster is aluminum not Titanium i will make sure to punish myself for my statements thank you for watching
I just got my QSP Vault today. What immediately surprised me was the detent strength. This feels like a traditional detent, not a crossbar. It doesn't have ANY of that spongy feeling you get from most crossbar locks, which is really impressive. I noticed the stop pin situation too, which is my only gripe about the knife. Looking on the inside of the spine, they could have very easily moved that stop pin forward an 1/8" and it would have hit the meat of the blade behind the choil, instead of out near the cutting edge like it does now.
Been looking forward to the Vault and Im definitely in for one when it drops on the 20th. At over 80 bucks, i dont see it passing the Penguin in popularity, though.
My favourite QSP in terms of overall package, performance and design is still the Canary folder. Not even the Penguin has impressed me as much. Nothing fancy or eye-catching or unique about the canary. It’s vanilla AF. But the execution is superb for a super-basic linerlock.
@@qspknife it is dialed-in. I have a lot of liner locks of all makes and models. The Canary is my favourite. Smooth snappy action, solid lock-up with zero lock-stick on disengagement, which makes it very fidget friendly. Super slicey too. It just proves that simple can be very nice.
I am not a fan of the stop pin I just don't want the worry of the lock. When I hold a knife I want to feel confident however I do like the first one but why get it and have to worry about it every time I sharpen. I am not a straight back fan but appreciate it
My penguin never leaves the knife box. The shape and feel just don't connect with me at all. Glad you enjoy yours. I think the vault might work better for me.
hey brotha jman/jerad, great blades n great vid n ive never owned any of them yet , thanks for sharing , you are the MAN with the paln brotha , keep em coming , i love em all 1 million % coolnessn, thanks . tom !
I believe it's $170 I saw it on the website it's available Kaiser Mad Tanto by Damned Design with contour Micarta for under$100 and the New Victus with different colored Micarta same Mad Tanto by Damned Design under$90 these are my EDC weekly🎉🎉🎉
Yeah what’s the point of having a really good sharpening choil and plunge grind if the stop pin stops before the plunge grind and near the edge? That’s a deal breaker for me unless they fix it
You had to point that stop pin out on Lundquist didn’t you…. Dammit Jared !! I was trying to like it but your absolutely right its in the absolute worst place. Internal stop pins or die 🤘🤙
If it’s higher priced than the penguin S35VN version, then the answer is NO. S35VN is better than 14C28N. The Penguin (S35VN) is a really good EDC knife with great blade steel, overall holds up well.
I never understood why you never shake the cross bar, axis lock Knives in your reviews to see how easy they shake open. We know they will but some don’t or harder to. Why not help us out and shake those knives…..
The Unicorn sums up QSP for me: _SO CLOSE_ ...but no cigar. That flipper tab ruins the knife and nearly every QSP knife is like that IMO. If a knife looks cool and has features/design aspects I look for then it's always got something that's just a deal-breaker for me (liner-locks, frame-locks, flipper-tabs that don't hide when open, no front-flippers, weird, blade shapes etc etc.) QSP is up against a bunch of other Chi-com knife companies and _FOR ME_ they're the brand that I just don't ever connect with. I mean I'd buy and carry a QSP anything over a Benchmade but... up against Vosteed, Kizer, Artisan/CJRB, even some Kansept from time to time, QSP just doesn't draw me in with their products.
I got a Penguin because of so much hype but the thumb studs were placed very weird... almost had to flick straight out more than upwards. Maybe just my hands?
Hey neeves, have you ever heard of a lock failing in a combat situation? Its always said to get a strong lock just in case but ive never actually heard of a lock failing (save for factory defect).
Ofcourse, even some very strong locks will slip if the impact is fast enough or if it's done multiple times in a row. Fixed blade will always be the best for that situation but if your going with a folding pocket knife just make sure it has a reliable lock that can take some shock.
Sad to say but better knives have been coming out of China for awhile now. Civivi, QSP, Kizer, Reate, and Max Ace all better quality than Buck, Kershaw, CRKT, and Gerber is just complete garbage. The only quality coming out of the US is $300+, sometimes $500+ like Medford, Sharp by Design, Chris Reeve, Roosevelt, James Brand. I guess you can get some nice fixed blades for under $300 like Tops and TKell but for folders even Spyderco's best quality is out of Taiwan. We need to raise more craftsman in this country or its just going to get worse.
When it comes to cutlery and the overall quality/fit & finish ratio to dollars spent, made in China is equivalent to what made in the USA used to mean in the 60's, 70's and 80's. The "made in China" comment holds no weight in terms of being a negative connotation in todays market place.

I hear you on the stop pin too. I’ll see what I can do on the next run! Cheers
Definitely grabbing one of the next ones. Super awesome looking knife
👊 I know stop pin placement can be a pain sometimes it's nice if you can have an internal track stop pin but sometimes it's not possible
Just a headsup, the Vault is actually aluminum bolster, not Ti!
Sorry Neeves, it is Aluminum bolsters to save weight and balance of the knife.
Yep,yep,yep... That's right.
We forgive you Jacob
Oh no! That's my fault I have a brain disease that prevents me from reading the damn directions lol
Nothing can touch the penguin. Greatest budget knife and one of the best all around knives ever
I want the button lock ultem in s90v
Thanks it is one that we will keep around.
So, Does it feel like a ball detent? or just a good crossbar?
Good question not quite like a ball but definitely on stronger side for crossbar pretty close though
I like to buy CBN Stones..what is the best way..also waiting for ur show on them..just want to buy a few of them to sharpen abd polish..can u advise?
Go to my recent videos on them, it's named the best sharpening stones just type neevesknives before
I saw a prototype of this Vault knife at the Oregon Knife Collectors Show last month.. I happy that it finally is coming out!!!!!
Yes sorry we were a month off of our goal, but released as of today.
Coil spring axis lock. Next big craze. That and the compression lock.
I like the look of that first knife. The clip I’m not a huge fan of, but I love the silhouette. Love your vids man, keep ‘em up.
The bolsters are aluminum, not titanium.
Parabéns pelo canal curto muito. Tenho um parrot v2 a QSP tem excelentes facas. Mas esses modelos aí custam verdadeira fortuna aqui.

Back up!! QSP beautiful plunge grind and sharpening choil? Finally!! 🎉🎉🤯
We hear the community and will work to improve. thanks for the comment

Yeah maybe not however I would love to see after a few months which one sold more in those months
Out now.
they're aluminum bolster according to qsp
Yup it is look like he found that information.
Beautiful design! Really like the way they did the crossbar lock. PLEASE do this in a Wharncliffe! Unicorn is ... not for me.
Thanks for the input.

The action on the Canary is dialed in and glad you are liking it.

Do you know when the first QSP is going to be released? Commenting before finishing the video, so I apologize if you answer it in the video.
The 20th I believe
Released now 5/20 is correct.
The Penguin at under $35 is still a better knife value than the Vault at $86. Steel is important but not at almost triple the price.
Value is there hope you get to handle one at some point.
My penguin never leaves the knife box. The shape and feel just don't connect with me at all. Glad you enjoy yours. I think the vault might work better for me.

The penguin is one that is accepted at $30 to $400 appreciate the input.
Reminds me of SOGS XR lock
I personally didn't like the XR lock.
Really like the vault but think that a wharncliffe or similar blade shape would make it even better
We have a few different blade styles in the line, but it can happen as the model progresses.
202 Ledner Extensions
Arnold Lights
Carlee Summit
That's the 1st one I heard not named after an animal! Unless there's an animal I don't know of called a vault!
Very true, maybe that only goes for there own designs and this one's a Lundquist design
Wiza Shoals
Must be a bit heavy?
I like the grip shape on those. Get a steong grip.
It is comfortable.

The retention from Inertia is actually very good, I read the comment then went to shake one and didn't come out.

Thanks for sharing bro
It’s nice but it’s $50 more than the penguins which is why the penguins is the popular value
The penguin has a huge range from $30-$400 hope you get to try some of the new products too.
This knife looks good but it’s definitely overpriced. Should be $60 not $80
Hope you get to try it out at some point, thanks for the input.

China makes the best knives for the money right now. These ignorant China bad comments are so funny.
