I have a fond memory of this grade crossing from black in the late 1970's before they made the current modifications to the Katella/I-5 interchange. We were taxiing a plane west on Katella Ave (after landing at Angel Stadium, on our way to the convention center. We got stopped by a very long local SP heading south with 2 cabeese. Local PD was supposed to be watching the crossing to direct plane traffic west. A unique experience never to duplicated again. They used to have air shows at the Anaheim Convention Center. The planes would land at Angel Stadium and taxi west to the convention center over the 5 freeway Katella.
Fun-fact: abounded Union Pacific lines sometimes have teardrop crossing bells but it’s hard to find them they pretty much got removed if you’re lucky to see one abandoned railroad crossing that is still there great video btw.

Right! I remember when Katella went over the 5 and curved around the Dell Taco on the other side! Lol
