Wow that is pretty clever if your trip to your final destination includes a layover.

I dig the risk, just gotta go for it sometimes

Best of luck flying Frontier. They have burned me one too many times so I've decided it's not worth any cost savings. In case you didn't know, your bag has to absolutely fit in the sizer to they will charge you $100. Apparently they get a bounty for every fee they charge so be careful

Yeah, I avoid flying Frontier, too, if I can. I've brought comically large bags onto Spirit flights, and no one has said a word, but flying Frontier, I always bring a smaller bag.

This is fine as long as there are no delays or cancellations on the first leg. If that happens, you are burned.

But how much did the Cancun stay cost you?

It was actually very cheap! Only ~$20 a night for a hostel.

Which booking site did you use to look up your flights? I use Skiplagged, but do you have another site that you'd recommend?

How is skiplagged? Do you do hidden city traveling? Or just use it for standard booking. I’ve heard airlines can ban you if they find out you get off at a layover which is why I’m hesitant to try the hidden city method.

I pretty much always use Google Flights, but honestly haven't tried many other sites. I've been meaning to try Skiplagged, though. Piggybacking on @supejc's comment, how do you like it?

@ewannnawe it's been pretty good. The main feature I really like with it has been seeing the pricing by date/date range. Otherwise, it seems pretty similar to Google flights.
