Yes, the accents opened up new ways to rhyme and flow, that's why he's doing it, glad you recognize it. This is more horrorcore rap. When he was recovering in the hospital, he got into all those true crime TV shows that talk about all the serial killers and it inspired this whole album.
"If this is your car song...there's something wrong with you." This is why I hide that 3 a.m. is my most played Eminem songs and that I know every word even without the music.
I think this whole song is a double entendre. He’s talking about actually killing people and killing rappers in the rap game. With Em you can’t be a lazy listener, he has so many meanings to his verses usually. He’s definitely showcasing his story telling abilities on this album.
"It's 3 a.m. in the mornin' Put my key in the door and Bodies layin' all over the floor and I don't remember how they got there But I guess I must've killed 'em, killed 'em!!!" This that symbiote Shady again
When this first came out, I had this on repeat at work. Then the “Travis Barker remix”became my favorite. Love this song. Still on my top list. That guitar takes the song into a whole other level.
Yo man i really hope you stay on this Eminem journey. You will be doing yourself a huge favor. Dudes catalogue is just insanely good… i mean thoroughly good !! His storytelling , rhyming , cadence and wordplay are second to none. The more you go down the rabbit hole the more you will like. Just ask Stevie knight ( reactor on TH-cam ).
I like listening to this song as if it's in the same category as horror movies. It's a horror movie in a different media. It's really well done and paints a vivid (yet disgusting) image. It's art
It's a bumping beat and flow... the lyrics aren't nearly as disturbed as Stay Wide Awake or Music Box. Loved the interview when told these songs are dope but the message is SO dark Em said, "Thank You. I take PRIDE in my illness." Horrorcore Em is awesome.
bruh this shi used to come on the TV back when MTV had those oldschool TOP 10 tracks😭. I definitely had to be in like 3red grade listening to this on the dang TV jamming.
This is the album that got me into Em. The schemes so genius. No word off topic. Catchy as hell. Horror core for sure. So unlike anything else. What else was he capable of? We know now
I listen to this song all the damn time. I am NOT a killer either. I HELP everyone i can. Family or whoever. Can be a complete stranger. I still help em. But i jam to it all the time. I love it. 😂❤😊
Think of it as a metaphor for his career. He .orders everyone on wax the way a serial killer goes after people. It's automatic and he gets off on the rush of destroying other people in the booth.
Check out “bagpipes from Baghdad” bro. He uses the accents again to bend words you wouldn’t be able able to speaking normal. Second verse is top 5 in my books.
The Hannah Montana line is referencing Georffry Dahmer who used to force his victims to watch cartoons before he murdered them The red panties is referencing the serial killer Russel Williams that used to wear his victims underwear The lotion in the bucket is Silence of The Lambs He has references to lots of real life serial killers in this song
you gotta check out "Criminal" one of my top eminem songs, he touches on how the world blamed him for kids acting out and how he's a bad influence (side note my man ryhmes the n word without using it and it went hard lol)
You should check out 1) Tech Nine featuring Eminem and Krizz Kaliko- Speedom (No chair recommended off the rip guaranteed.) 2) Logic featuring Eminem- Homicide (Also no chair recommended. Punchlines in bunches.) Both of these songs are collaborations with artists that can sprint with Eminem and not fall behind. Brace yourself!
Em was bored Kezzy and wanted to find ways to rhyme words that didn't rhyme like orange. Em quote: you’re taking the word at face value, and you just say ‘orange’, nothing is going to rhyme with it exactly.” “If you enunciate it and make it more than one syllable, or-ange, you can say, like, I put my or-ange, four inch, door hinge in stor-age and ate porr-idge with Geo-rge.” Stay blessed 👊🏼
you should check out a song not alot of people have done but its a heavey song from eminem best friend proof..... its call kurt kobain... also eminems song called "Difficult"
The accents are why he said IT WAS CRINGE... not stay wide awake specifically... just this album in general... but I think he just gets too into what other ppl think and it clouds his judgment cuz me and everyone else thinks this album is amazing
So, Eminem has been my favorite rapper since the first time I ever heard him. And I’m one of those women that puts on true crime/serial killer documentaries to relax. 😂 (I just find the psychology/psychopathy of it fascinating.) So, Relapse is my favorite Eminem album. LOL. 🤣 The beats are great, his flows are remarkable, the rhyme schemes (and how long he can carry them) are insane, and the storytelling ability is incredible. I feel like I’m watching my favorite movies/documentaries while they’re being rapped to me by one of the greatest artists this world will ever see. Is the album weird? Yep. Am I weird for finding so much enjoyment bumping it on a regular basis? Probably. 😂 But I’m going to keep listening and enjoying nevertheless.
Question is how many times people watch horror movies this is just a movie with words is a rap god goat just like the movies you get a little bit of everything comedy horror action drama motivating you name it the goat Marshall Mathers can rap about it
I’m still trippin over this 😂😂🔥
This album wouldn’t be possible if he didn’t play with the accents. I’m here for them 🔥🔥🔥
You have to do framed it is the sequel this song.
You gotta check out Music Box.. Carries on this horrorcore rap
u should listen to bad guy-eminem form the marshall mathers lp2
You gotta check out Eminem-Framed it’s the second part of this
How many of us need to seek help cos we bump this a lot.

"Framed" is the sequel / prequel to this, might wanna follow up with that.
also gotta request: Eminem Unaccomadating and These Demons
"waking up naked at McDonalds with blood all over me with dead bodies not again" relatable
Wat you mean by relatable 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
I listened to stay Wide Awake 165 times last year
When this album came out, me and my best friend listened to the entire album on the beach on mushrooms
"The prodigal son, the diabolical one, very methodical when I slaughter em..." is crazy bars! Damn Em is on a different level
I listen to the song every day at 3am …….😂😂😂😂
"It's 3 a.m. in the mornin' Put my key in the door and Bodies layin' all over the floor and I don't remember how they got there But I guess I must've killed 'em, killed 'em!!!" This that symbiote Shady again
I just noticed he was wearing a Blade Tee, Hella fitting for this song.
One of my favorite songs of his. He has so many great songs.
I been listening to this album since it came out. Super underrated. Yes. I'm crazy af
Eminem + Drugs = 3AM lmfao

Every day before work I listen to this and Halloween is a great time of year for this song 😂
Album was way ahead of its time. This is such a great album and like nothing we've ever heard. Nobody still hasn't done anything like this

BRO U HAVE TO DO EMINEM - DARKNESS FR FR. ONE OF HIS BEST RECENT SONGS. ALSO HAS A MUSIC VIDEO
One of my favorite songs
The bridge when he’s talking about the lotion is a about the movie silence of the lambs
Holy hell this took me back.. I got this CD at walmart in the $5 bin. lol
I remember when I was a little kid my dad would play this song in the car
I listen to this song all the damn time. I am NOT a killer either. I HELP everyone i can. Family or whoever. Can be a complete stranger. I still help em. But i jam to it all the time. I love it. 😂❤😊
This my Jam every morning when I grab a fresh cup of Folger's coffee
This is one of my faves!!
Think of it as a metaphor for his career. He .orders everyone on wax the way a serial killer goes after people. It's automatic and he gets off on the rush of destroying other people in the booth.
Edit: .orders=>MURDERS everyone on wax.
Its took me years to figure this out but the mcdonald's line i think is referring to the San Ysidro Mcdonald's massacre in 1984 🤯
