Thanks for the compliment on the video. The 4ws is controlled separately from the front via the 3rd channel on my 4PK. You won't have variable control, like the front. It has to be set-up for full throw, or you can program it to be incremental.
Thanks. I don't run wheel weights, but I have switched to aluminum wheels since shooting this video. The rear steer is controlled by the 3rd channel on my Futaba 4PK radio.
Not sure of the cost off-hand, but you will need the inner dog bones, outer drive cups, knuckles, C-hubs, bearings, kingpin sleeves, screws for the kingpins, servo plate, servo linkage, servo horn, and a decent servo.
You would need a 3 channel radio with a 3 position switch for the 3rd channel, and an extra servo for the rear axle. Depending on the batteries and servos used, a BEC may be required too.
Great work as always. Just as I was starting to think I could live with out building a Wraith this makes me realise I can LOL got to have one. Good work and New Axial 'Bling' looks cool. Thanks for your time to film - first class.
i used a Punk RC computer for my 4WS. Its hooked up to me 3rd channel 3 position switch. 1 is 4WS, 2 is crab steer, and 3 is front steer only. Works perfect and you can even hook them up with a 2 channel radio. i also did the RC4WD 2 speed tranny and it is amazing. 1st gear is way lower than stock for crawling and 2nd gear is way higher for rallying. Probably my favorite upgrade.
I can get a good 45 minutes of bashing around with a 2S 5300mah pack. It really depends on how aggressively you drive it. Low speed crawling will net more run time than high speed bashing, so run times do vary.
@2403328 I am not sure on the price, as I pieced it together. They don't officially offer a 4WS steer "kit" that I know of. You basically need to convert the rear axle to a front by buying the knuckles, c-hubs, inner CVD's, servo plate, etc.
@mattyjulien Thanks! I relocated the battery to the front, it is now underneath the hood. I am running a 5300mah 2S lipo. You can't buy a 4ws kit from Axial ready to go, but you can piece one together. Check out Axial's blog, there is a step by step build on this Wraith there.
@rcfreak69lol No, I just converted the rear axle to a front axle. If you ditch the rear lockouts and axle shafts, you can replace them with Wraith inner CVD axles, c-hubs and knuckles. Add the servo mount and you are good to go.
@timmyahhh It is a sensored brushless motor, which have different ratings than the brushed motors. A 35t motor will work great too, especially with a 3S lipo, but probably won't quite have the wheelspeed this Wraith has.
great vid, best one i have seen,i am in the process of building a wraith,i was wondering how you controlled the 4ws setup, servo y harness?,it seems in the vid you have separate control of the rear steering,i also have a 4pk,thanks ,keep the vids comn
A few questions, what size battery are you running and where did you re-locate it to since it isnt in the rear battery tray? And was the 4 wheel steering a kit you could buy from axial? Sick video man that thing slays!
@BenderCustoms So you can crawl with the 10.5t brushless motor but it's not as easy/controlled setup as brushed? I put the 35t system in mine and it's a big improvement over the stock 20t but wheel speed is slower. FXR esc 35t Tekin 5000mah 40c lipo.
I'm not worthy , I'm not worthy . I'm not worthy .....lol....love this video ..you've inspired me to reinstall the 4WS back on my Wraith , I'll take the one time 3 point loss in comp for using it ..AND BLOW THE COMPETITION AWAY at this weekends crawler comp ...thanks for the inspiration ...
I am wanting to do a 4WS conversion on my Wraith. I want to upgrade to aluminum axles anyway, couldn't I just buy 2 complete front axles, swap the diff gears around in the axle going in the rear and be done?
I see a red door and I want to paint it black....., I had a Wraith kit and I want to paint it black....., Nice video, It's got the Stones stuck in my head..... =)
I hate you:):):) I love you!!! I want one of this Wraith man!!!! Really awesome video and rig as always Bender!!! Keep rocking man!!!! I enjoy it too much!!! Thanks for share!!!

That was Awesome !! Picture quality is amazing, love the Axial Wraith Kit !
It is on Axial's blog. Search "step by step Wraith kit build". It is a seven part build with multiple links.
Great work as always. Just as I was starting to think I could live with out building a Wraith this makes me realise I can LOL got to have one. Good work and New Axial 'Bling' looks cool.
Thanks for your time to film - first class.
Awesome video, one of the best I've seen, you really show of the wraiths capabilities, love the 4 wheel steering too...nice!
Thanks. The 10.5t motor works great, good power and speed even on 2S.

Good stuff Bender, I'm impressed that a 10.5 will crawl that well.
Best wraith video on youtube hands down.
Amazing video! Great camera angles & excellent editing!

Nice! well shot and a great soundtrack too! I'm thinking of putting 4WS on mine and you just sealed it for me!!!

Thanks. I am still running stock gears with no issues, the are pretty tough.
I haven't tried 3S yet. It does quite well right now with just the 2S packs.
Great video, some great driving skills too! That things a beast, good job
Thanks. I am using a Sony HDR-CX110 video camera.
I am using a Futaba 4PK, it is a 4 channel pistol grip radio.
Man it handled so well!!! Great job alll around!
Nicest wraith vid I've seen so far!!!
@CrazySilentAssain I am running a Tekin 10.5 sensored brushless motor with their RS Pro ESC and a 2S 5300mah lipo.
very nice work both video and the wraith build looks superb , hole new dimension to the wraith with 4ws , !
I absolutely loved it. As usual you surprised me big time. share the goods and tell us what you used. From servo to servo!
thank you
tool + wraith = awesome!
Nice rig dude. Sick video. Dope song. I rock a brushed tekin 35t with an FX-R Esc and 5000 2s lipo. Love it.
Shame you don't do videos more often.
They're always great.
perfect day with the wraith
good job!!

@mtnyote That is awesome to hear!
Sure, if you have a good 4 channel radio it will give you the ultimate control.

@walkerbr406 I am using a Sony HDR-CX110 video camera.
This video made my boss buy his first crawler.
Awesome video!
Love your car!
It should be. It will probably crawl a little better than my set-up too.
great vid, best one i have seen,i am in the process of building a wraith,i was wondering how you controlled the 4ws setup, servo y harness?,it seems in the vid you have separate control of the rear steering,i also have a 4pk,thanks ,keep the vids comn
@junixsk8 There is a complete step by step build of this vehicle on Axial's blog. I listed every part I used there. Thanks!
@oldschool240 Thanks for the compliment.

Great Stuff Man!
Do you use Wheel Weights?
How do you control / steer the rear wheels independent from the from ones?
Another cool vid. Why don't you run 4WS mixing and have it switched also? You can do both.
@RCBASHERTRUCK I haven't had any driveline issues.
