    I can't say that I have ever seen a tapered roller bearing that bad. Holy smoke.

    In these situations, it becomes....while you're in there.
    Replaced as much as possible. That way, you do not have to take everything apart a second time.

    To be fair, had the owner been aware and changed the fluids in both the diff and the transmission as soon as he got home this may not have been the outcome since that would have removed most (if not all) of the water that had been ingested.

    For this type of car I would expect better sealing for wading jn water… mbe old seals ?
