I'm shocked the boys didn't even mention the fact that Jake Hager somehow got busted open before he even entered the cage! He must've been in Goldberg mode.
Picture in picture was really annoying, but i'm not gonna not watch it still lol. The ending to me was fine, I don't want the talent to actually die/get seriously injured. This match was insanely good.
No one does and no one is saying they have to get hurt to make a spot look good on TV, just because you are concerned about their well being doesn't mean that you shouldn't criticize when something looks bad . Like Jawny pointed out, they've done this before already and better.
I'm sorry. But as a kid, the bump that wowed me the most was the Shane McMahon-Steve Blackman tron spot in 2000. Go back and look at that. It's the same. Still loved it.
I think that gets more of a pass from people because of how high it was. I think the Jericho fall was fine too there just should’ve been better camera work
Honestly obvious crash pad aside (which is mostly just a bad angle) and the unavoidable commercials, this match fucked. The wrestlers were all fired the fuck up, the crowd was fired the fuck up, I was fired the fuck up. It was basically exactly what I wanted out of a modern wargames match. A bloody mess.
Go back and watch it.. it was terrible crash pads whole event pre recorded and not advertised to be pre recorded only one live match crash pad ending and fake metal crash landing
@UC3GPz4E43wjZDYVkal96P4Q @Jack Yeah i know you are right. i was just talking about the match itself before that terrible Finish and that crash pad landing. it was underwhelming sadly
adam cole and kyle oreilly did the stage spot in their match and aew could of done the same exact thing. Or make a wood stage like the stadium stampede finish.
They shouldn't have done the spot, I'm pretty sure they built an elevated platform for the spot, meaning the actual stage below is solid. They could have done the same finish but had mjf hit Jericho in the head with a bat.
The WWE shills, I mean fans, might have a field day with the picture and picture, showing obvious bladejobs, and the bad camera angle for what should have been the ultimate character establishing spot of the decade (proof that AEW still needs to work on their delivery), but I thought the match itself was excellent and that it's so much better than most of what WWE produces. I liked the NXT Wargames matches but this was so much more like a REAL Wargames. Slightly disorganized brawling with bloodshed galore. It's refreshing to see in a world were wrestling is so sanitized and choreographed. Also imo, surrender is never a flat finish. It's a great way to put sympathy on the babyfaces and heat on the heels.
I will say that it was a great match overall but the finish wasn't good at all and I think that if they made the cage a bit like a lethal lockdown match it may have been better because of different weapons being strapped to the top of the cage ceiling and we may have got a better finish in my opinion.
Pretty sure Jericho will be back this show, he can't sell the fall after all the attention it got, kind of like the ending to the barbed wire explosion deathmatch should have written off Eddie and Mox but after it went tits up they couldn't justify going away for long. This keeps happening to them.
There was a video of Tony khan telling the fans if they wanted a refund they could ask for it and only like 5 people actually did. The crowd noise during the prerecorded matches was actually the live audience watching along, so I think they enjoyed it
@@The-Fewer what does that prove people enjoying it. It was a shit show and from what I heard it was more than 5 people the whole show was pre recorded part from the actual cage match then the fake steel and crash pad spot you don't see that on TV shows and movies

mjf eats corn the long way
X-Pac takes the corn away from the MJF.
X-Pac: "You don't need this thing anymore! Come on!"
I wish you guys did daily content. I have a job that's like 12 hr days and I have listened to everything. You offer great content and awesome laughs

i wasn't mad about the finish its just they couldve used better camera work when jericho fell
That’s for true. Aaaaand that’s pretty true.
It felt like inner circle was beating pinnacle’s ass for like 15 minutes tbh
By god! When flesh meets cardboard, the cardboard wins everytime.

The picture in picture was so horrible for this match.
They really have to cut it out with that, I always get so annoyed every time it happens
Gunt & butt yessir
Super enjoyed this match. Ending was lame, but most of the War Games endings are. Either they REALLY injure the combatants, or it's lame.
*More like Glood and Buts!*
Big juice boys
I would understand the complaint of picture in picture if this wasn't 2021 and you couldn't watch through Fite TV without commercials.
Aew: great matches, dogshit production
AEW will be able to attract some top-tier production people as they grow and make more money. That's what I'm hoping for anyway.
