can back charge alternator or arcing relays to ground effect those odometers? Me odometer didnt work for years sudenly when I hade ground problems with blinker relay me car cinde of worked in union with the blinker relay and funy thing was me odometer started working again ??? So any idea what is wrong with that thing? I did notice the diode is bypassed on the dashboard insted going to baterry light it goes to engine warning light insted that diode so I know me Delco 12 si is back chargeing but that odometer confuse me realy.
I'm looking for a speedometer that is just like that one, can you tell me exactly what kind of vehicle it came out of. I did an engine and trans swap and I'm going from a mechanical speedometer to an electric speedometer and I want to try to find a factory electric Speedo that will fit into the cluster on my 84 Monte Carlo. Thanks
Can you make a video drawing a rough sketch of how the trip-o reset stem would’ve worked? Troubleshooting mine and this sorta helped and sorta didn’t. Thanks!
It's pretty much a long stick with a spring to push it up and a gear on the side that is disconnected when up. When you push it down it connects with the gear on the trip counter wheel to reset it. Hope that helps
@@AdventureBrad oh okay it just kinda clicked in my head! Makes sense! It’s a worm gear correct? Kinda like the one that pilots the main gear that turns both the odometer and trip?

Glad you got it figured out, if i remember correctly it was a straight cut gear
@@AdventureBrad gotcha. I’ll pop it open and start working. Thanks again!
@@AdventureBrad one last question, how do you get that gear off the end of the stem inside? Can’t get it out for the life of me
