Many people call the Netherlands Holland because back in like the 16 houndreds the dutch did many expiditions and when they were asked where they are from they responded with Holland.
nah its cause netherlands formed out of holland, before that holland was part of the spanisch empire and an puppet controlled by the Bourgeoisie living there and then after they fought for independence they called them selfs "holland" and that how the name came into existence (short story) later they were called netherlands, but only after a lot of wars in europe to gain more territory. (but basicly it was the first modern democrazy in europe, even BEFORE the french :D)
Not improving relations with Austria after getting such an early brothers war is a massive rookie error. Could have received their lands, army and manpower in the Unification Play
@@SmithySmith Then I'll be happy to offer some. You did most of the meta steps to forming the HRE in the beginning, get Schleswig an Holstein early, aim for early leadership and focus on economy. Where you went off was not improving as much as possible with Austria after the war and not building your army up to match France. You then start the Unification Play once you have support from every Nation, including Austria. That might require bankrolling them and some other stuff but it's usually possible. That gives you a massive nation to work with afterwards, making it fairly easy to gather the rest
One funny fact is "laissez-faire" while being french words is not worded like that in the French localization, instead we have "non interventionnisme". Strange decision IMO.
Last time I played I also got Hungarian as accepted culture in United States of Europe. I played Austria, then got event to integrate Hungarian culture but didn't click it. Then formed Europed and then clicked the event and got Hzngarian as accepted cultute. Don't kniw if you can still do it.
love the vid, i did this formation a couple days ago, if you wanted a quicker way of forming HRE then i would go for improving relations with Austria Hungary and then protectorating north Italian and Netherlands. really good video tho
P.S if you go over 100 infamy, you get everyone cutting you down to size. but if you stay under 100 you should have to deal with less war and less radicals in your country
Also, if you improve relations with your procetorates, then you can annex them without going to war. sorry if this was back seating or whatever, just trying to help you out lol

Also the protectorates idea, I tried it once with the Netherlands and they still didn't accept. For the formation of the HRE, ill give that a go the next time I play Prussia. Thanks for watching.
@@SmithySmith you just need to get the leadership play, then improve relations with them until they like you and support you in forming germany, then you press the button and unify into one mega germany FULL CORED !
Just a little funfact If you play as france and let an IG with a bornapartist leader become powerful you can use the natural borders of France decision to get a Germanic culture as one of your primary culture which allows you to get access to the "central Europe" nation formation decision. It is extremely easy to subjugate the German states, Belgium, Switzerland and north italy as France so its the easiest way to form the HRE/United States of Europe etc. along with having ALL of France
Lassiez Faire will be very interesting in sphere of influence. A lot of the achievements will get harder for sure

Most people here in Danmark get blank faces when I say Nederlandene (which is danish for the Netherlands) instead of Holland.
