Because transgender men take testosterone shots to become more manly so they are not allowed to compete because they fail the testosterone test. But also because they would stand no chance competeing against real men.
On average men are 12 cm taller, they have bigger lungs, hearts and longer legs and arm. Furthermore men have a higher hemoglobin level which is crucial to support the muscle with more oxygen. At some point you simply have to let the facts talk.
AFTER puberty. The same is not true of children.

In her statement, the runner clearly demonstrates a level of hopelessness for herself- “there is nothing I can do.”. No matter how much she trains, biologically/physically speaking there is literally nothing she can do to win.
The girl was definitely being a good sport, but you can tell by her wording how she really felt, and it’s disappointing that she couldn’t say it plainly. I can’t imagine the pressure on her to be politically correct in those moments.

And my antecdotal example is just tied to scientific facts. Men have quicker reflexes, bigger lung capacities and have the genetic makeup that makes them bigger, faster and stronger than women. As a track runner, I would HATE this. Whether our society likes it or not boys and girls are biologically different. Whatever the person may identify as, biologically they are still the same. It’s not fair to the girls who are training really hard to have to compete with someone who has a physical advantage over them.

Vivian Lee you’re correct in saying that height has an impact on performance. However, males gain muscle faster than girls. It’s a fact. I don’t think you understand how hard track runners work. We run almost everyday, do strength training, we have a specific diet, etccc. I can promise you I have to work twice as hard as the guys on my team to get the same times. Height doesn’t mean as much as muscle does in track (at least in my events).

I understand that this lady defending trans athletes would like her opinion to be the universal truth, but she never had to face any of what she is talking about. The fact that no one can name a trans man performing anything close to well in a men's category, in any discipline, and that I can name an infinite amount of trans women crushing more and more female records every single day, in every discipline, should be enough to stop this non-sense discussion.
Let the transgender have their own categories and race against each other, let the non-binary race against themselves and leave the traditional categories to men and women we should not conform by erasing our normal ways.

As a natural female I know that before puberty there isn't really much difference. In 4th grade I ran track. I ran on the girls' team. One meet the boys was missing one of their runners. I was fast and the coach put me as the anchor on the boys team for the meet. We got disqualified because I out ran the boys and a former coach on an opposing team realized who I was. I was anchor on the girls team for him when I was going to his school, reported me. The other coaches were mad and demanded that we be DQ. Two years later these same boys were matching me for the most part. Two more years after that I couldn't even try to out run any of them.
The only time the two sexes are equal in terms of physicality are until they are around 7 or 8. The girls will then become taller and thinner and they boys will become stronger & continue growing in height until 25.
