    DeLayne was beaming when he held that blue crab. That man was smiling from ear to ear! Champagne basket was loaded with delicious food 🦞🦀

    Growing up in Texas we would catch crawdads in drainage ditches after a fresh rain. We’d tie a string around a piece of bacon and drop it into a crawdad hole. Those were good times.

      Yea,I grew up doing that as a young boy back in the 60's here in Texas, I still run traps to stock up our ranch tank hoping to grow big bass.

      Same in Missouri. We also would catch them in ponds. Canned dog food or cat food the chunky kind, chicken livers, or hot dogs make good bait.

    When I was a child, I played in a local creek with my friends. We saw lots of crayfish but never could we imagine that people could eat such a thing. How wrong I was when I worked in New Orleans and found out it was such a delicious dish. I'm from Ontario, Canada.
    I love your videos and how you catch and clean what you get, awesome stuff!

    Sitting here after riding in parade today eating crawfish watching you living life. Love the background music . You know I always had luck with deep water nets behind sugar mill and by the pump station behind Stacy drive.

    Man I crawfish in north Louisiana, it’s even harder. One tip I can give you is I noticed when you set pillow traps you shoved them straight down. That essentially blocked off the 2 funnels. You gotta set them at a steep angle. I use thin bamboo stick thru the trap into the mud when I get angle right. Other than that it’s trial and error I went out today and caught 47 pounds with mixture of 13 pillow traps and 3 dozen flat nets. It was a lot of work but paid off

    Growing up in the Hudson valley of NY back in the 80's we used to use sunfish (froze em then cut them from head to tail down the belly turn them inside out and wired them into our crab cages) we let them thaw out overnight in the back of the pick up so they were good and stinky for the crabs to go nuts over. We went for German soft Shell and Blue crabs.
    we used to use Crayfish for bass bait.

    • @notyaboymatty5907
      @notyaboymatty5907 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @OutsidetheLevees Yeah no shit Sherlock they are still both types of crayfish so in the same family of crustaceans I was mearly comparing the two different types no different then if I was to compare the Goliath Grouper fish to the Giant Grouper fish Buddy.

    • @notyaboymatty5907
      @notyaboymatty5907 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @OutsidetheLevees so basically, what I mean is they may not be the exact same species, but they are closely related. i do find the difference in types of crayfish quite interesting to see how they differ from one part of the world to another and from species to species

    • @notyaboymatty5907
      @notyaboymatty5907 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @OutsidetheLevees I also know America has a few different types of crayfish, same as here in Australia, so are the ones in this video the biggest type of ones you get?

      @@OutsidetheLevees I wasn't talking about all our yabbies because some of our species of yabbies are actually smaller than the ones in this video but damn do they taste good so I'd assume you guys yabbies are pretty good to I'd like to get the opportunity to eat them one day to know the difference like if the meats sweater or more fishy or what I'd love to experience it one day I know they look pretty tasty 😂😂😂
