    Cut back on the softener… it damages the machines, and vinegar alone is effective, eco-friendly and helps keep the washer clean.

      I heard about that a few months ago from a guy who fixes washing machines so I stopped using softener and guess what, it doesn't make any difference to the clothes. It was a waste of money all along

      Not to be mean, since I'm not from the US, but I don't understand why you need so much things to do the laundry. Just laundry detergent and vinegar. That's what we use here and the clothes are clean and soft. Perhaps a little bit of an scent after or (what I use) lavander bags between the clothes, but nothing more. Your laundry machine lives more and also your clothes.

      Also way too much soap. The key to clothed getting clean is the power setting on the machine....the friction does the work. If you add too much soap, softener, whatever you are leaving a lot of residue which attracts and retains more dirt & smells. So use about half and watch your clothed turn out better!

    • @sarahcarrizales9759
      @sarahcarrizales9759 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ff2154 Yes, even when I didn't think I was putting too much. If I put a shirt in water after it was washed, it still had soap bubbles. I started filling to line 1 and figure with what gets stuck in the cap means I am using a little less than line 1. I stopped buying the pods because my husband's brothers would put 2 or 3 and then pour in a lot of detergent too. Ridiculous. They are one of the "more detergent means it's cleaner" people. I try to explain to them that it's concentrated but they don't believe me. They think if it doesn't smell straight up like the detergent, that it's not clean.

    • @ff2154
      @ff2154 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@sarahcarrizales9759 😂 yes... for some ppl if you cant smell the Gaines or Tide from 10 feet away....youre not clean. What I do now is buy unscented laundry detergent and I use those big bottles of Dr Bronners scented soap like lavender or eucalyptus and add a few drops in with it. My clothes have never smelled better & it lasts forever. Basically using less soap overall and a few scented drops makes a huge difference IMO!
