      All you really need is detergent. Fabric softener is completely unneccessary chemicals so is scent boosters and laundry sanitizer. But I enjoy doing laundry so much that I like the extra steps, but I only put detergent, laundry vinegar instead of fabric softener and some oxi clean. And I only use the recommended amounts or less.

    • @ainorey882
      @ainorey882 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I know that fabric softener does soften clothes, but it's harmful to some materials like elastane. It also builds up on the clothes and can cause skin irritation and the smell is too strong for my liking anyway. You can easily go without or use vinegar with some essential oil for scent.

      You only need detergent and if you want an extra cleaning agent, laundry cleanser or disinfectant will kill the odour causing bacteria and leave your clothes fresh and clean. Fabric softener doesn't kill the bacteria causing bad smells it just masks the odour so it's not worth putting it in your laundry.

      They are too lazy to rinse them off under running water so they throw them in. That's how you destroy your clothes, especially in top load washers since these are way more agressive with agitation. The caps can catch on the clothes and create small holes.

    • @HyperionFive
      @HyperionFive 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      No. With nowadays technology of both washing machines and capsules there is no need anymore to sort by colors. You have also so many options as precautions on the market but I didn’t have a problem with colors in many years. It can happen but is way more rare than 5-10 years ago.

    • @skylinesandturnstiles
      @skylinesandturnstiles 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      separating by colour isnt a huge deal anymore since most of our clothing is made with dyes that dont bleed as intensely as they used to be back in the day. the detergent is to help prevent it as well as the colour catching sheets (which look like dryer sheets). yes separating clothes is still effective, but not as much as it used to be :)

    • @thegazetteyt

      Right? The only reason most don't sort colors anymore is that most clothing is polyester (plastic) and bleeding isn't a prevalent, but it still happens. Now a days it isn't so much bleeding of dyes, but the micro plastics that seep from the "fabrics" that modern clothing is made of.

      Yes, these TikTokers definitely put a lot of product in the washing machine but I’m assuming most of them do it just for the satisfying ASMR video!
      Also those are not dryer sheets going into the washing machine, they are Color Catcher Sheets. They are dye-trapping sheets which absorb and trap loose dyes in the wash so the dyes don’t stain other clothing. They allow you to wash all your clothing together in one load without needing to separate the white, darks, reds, etc. 💞

    • @ashrey1davinci
      @ashrey1davinci 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@ashrey1davinci you can do that by washing in cold and using liquid detergent. Powders will fade colours/darks quicker as it has stronger ph and sometimes added oxygen bleach. Also soaking new clothes in salt will help to fix the colours keeping it vibrant longer and prevent dye bleeding.
