Here we go, what I consider to be the most disturbing episode of the series. And for good reason too. Having a full on HUMAN appear in a world of puppets is just beyond uncanny

It's weird enough that an actual human showed up in the show, but she's also patched up like some kind of doll or something. So creepy!
@@charlesroberts-moses6074 See I was fine with humans in Sesame Street because they didn't look like maniacs about to tear my limbs off like this woman is.
“Something shreddable” is such a good ending for this series, and the camera work really helps make you feel hollow as the book is ripped to pieces.
The reason we focus on that staircase as hard as we do when Yellow Guy first gets batteries is to show that the camera doesn't restrict his view anymore. He has his own view point.
This whole time, that staircase was there... but through the entire first season they don't see it because that's where the camera's PoV is.
[Spoiler]
That's why in the final moments the camera just pans... and pans... no staircase, just the view of the original camera. The answers stuck out of view, out of reach.
A year late, and I don't know if this was just a throw away joke, but it seems that Red Guy and Duck were able to break free of the restricted camera view as well, with the lights off. They were able to find the bathroom (which again, could have been a throw away joke), but it's interesting to think that maybe they could have found the stairs too, if they kept searching
I love how there's no real ending to this series, they're so close to figuring everything out and then it's just ripped away and we get to know that the characters are still stuck in that nightmarish loop
The only time red guy shows emotion is when he is finally escaping and it’s so sad
Also the paintings on the wall imply that he had gone up the stairs before so they are stuck a loop and it’s so sad 😢

Little interesting thing worth noting: Just before the scene where Yellow Guy accidentally decapitated the figure of Duck Guy while putting it on the house, we can see a dead headless Duck Guy while the other 2 are wondering in the darkness.
Fun fact: at 8:32 you can hear red guy and duck talking about Stain Edwards the forever boy, and how they're doing experiments on him, so the thing at 11:36 is stain Edwards

@@CoolCactus405 everybody's been shown to have backups that replace the originals. Stain Edwards is kind of like what they all are before they become their characters. He's a symbol of them having backups.
The actual nightmare they're all going through is the process of machine learning. The one backup that actually makes a good decision is kept while the all the other ones are killed. That's why dying is seen as good. When one of them dies that represents General progress. The bad decision has been pruned, and the new duplicates are going to have slightly better chances of doing the right thing.
The reason this works so well is because it's modeled after evolution. However, evolution is blind. It can produce some wonderful results, but it can also create the giraffe, which has an incredibly long aortic problem.
So while it can seem like they're not progressing, they shredded the knowledge of leslie, it's a process of evolution. This will result in a fitter scenario, letting them live longer.
After all, if your entire life is an educational video, don't you fear someone who's already educated?
Yellow guy's answer to the crossword puzzle was a description of their house, and was also his dream monologue at the beginning of the last episode when the theme song went dark: big ones above them, and then even bigger ones (and a lumpy one, which is Stain the Forever Boy being eternally punished for murdering duck guy) and on top of that smaller ones (the doll house, which curiously is also inside of his ear canal in the Friendship episode along with clues that he's battery operated).
This explains the framed pictures of him ascending the staircase, because he has clearly done it before. The symbols on the cover of the book are the same characters he drew in the "spatial distribution" puzzle he showed red guy, so he would have understood the book, and may have seen it before. One of the symbols (a clue) is duck's name, because we also see it on the computer keyboard in the Friendship episode.
1:11 Noticed how Yellow Guy already knew that the room above had the Big Boys, and the one above that had the Bigger Boys, and the one above that had a miniature version of their house. That explains why there are pictures of him going up the stairs and opening the door, because he's done it before.
We need a new thing to keep traumatizing him... Has he seen salad fingers?

@@MathewMcKenna I recommend 'Shadowstone Park' if you have not already seen it. It is by the same channel that made Charlie the Unicorn and Llamas with hats. It is not as talked about as the other two series but i think it is really interesting and deserves more attention. Its not that scaring but it is pretty existential.

I truly believe Yellow Guy is the main character for learning more about where they are. Red Guy is the main character for trying to escape wherever hey are. Duck, I think was placed there to keep the two of them stuck in whatever hellscape Red and Yellow are in.

@@plaidhatter1674 Ya and they showed how easy it would be to just create a new Duck. I'm pretty sure the real duck died, but they were such perfect replikas that nobody would be able to tell Duck isn't the first Duck.
The first half of this episode is freaking hilarious. The second half is a slow descent into something halfway between an existential crisis and nightmare fuel (although strangely wholesome at that one part)
This is definitely one of my favorite episodes from the new show
The extra sad level to it is that at the beginning yellow guy already says everything that's about to happen. Meaning it has likely all happened before.

What an episode to end the first season on... In retrospect, there ended up being a lot of hints at where the series was going, not to mention a lot of call-backs to previous episodes, particularly once we reach Lesley. As for Lesley herself, hoo boy there's a lot to unpack with her. She's one big mystery with this series, and makes me wonder if she was an unseen presence in the original TH-cam series, since this episode seems to kill off all the previous "teachers", including the ones from the TH-cam series. It's clear that they're seeing things up for more mysteries and questions to be answered should this get renewed for a second season (which I hope it does, there's a lot of talent going into this show). I think what I like most about this episode, though, is when the Yellow Guy becomes intelligent, because once he does he reacts to everything how basically the audience would react to it. Granted, he's used to all of this so he doesn't freak out or anything, but he does begin to question why all of it is happening and wants answers as much as the audience does. Really makes me feel bad when he becomes dumb again by the end, and not just because he shreds the book that might be the key to everything. Electracey (that robot thing) is also probably the nicest of the teachers we've met, nothing but helpful and friendly, and for that she gets her batteries ripped out and replaced with Yellow Guy's nasty once and acts drunk for the rest of the episode. At least she survives by the end, unlike the other teachers.
Lil useless theory, the wires in the "pet animal" are because Lesley (or whoever it was) used it as a test before giving Yellow Guy batteries.
Hey Mat, thanks for getting me back into dhmis! I wasn't in a rush to get back into the series that came out on TV, idk why, maybe laziness. the bigger ones above, and above that, and a biggest one, and then a smaller one (he was describing this Simulation, Nightmare coma, actual Hell, whatever it is house), if you look at the house you see the levels, he made it to the attic, but above the attic would be above the house...they drove out of the range of the puppet land, but not...above it, where the creator would be...the puppeteer.

the original youtube series will make you slowly mentally waste away from the rising tension that it constantly creates. the tv series, on the other hand, burns it straight into you BRAIN by picking the perfect times to interrupt you and subdue you.

I've had a theory for awhile now thay there's only been one season because you're SUPPOSED to watch the same episodes over and over again, since it's been obvious that David has done this before and no matter how many times he's tried he keeps going back to his normal gullible self.. the cycle repeating.
