This episode was so interesting, putting aside the body horror is an amazing way to criticize a job, how HR treats you, almost like wanting to brainwashing you, how other workers can shape your mentality and suddenly… years passed and you gave a part of your life to it, and that’s the deeper horror I love of DHMIS
I think it’s more a satire of how society doesn’t give a shot about your mental health and will only treat the problematic symptoms that’s reduce your productivity by actively drugging you and forcing you to do bullshit exercises that don’t do anything to help while denying the actually helpful methods like increased pay, decreased hours, not basically forcing you to not have a sleep schedule, gatekeep professionals through years of wait times or paywalls, forcing you to work pointless jobs (seriously there entire model is get clay reform into parts turn parts into clay repeat) and withhold necessities like food and shelter through an inherently worthless currency to access them that can only be gained through said jobs Also they ended on a really unsubtle joke about how you are blinded from the horrors of the world through the grind to get more money Yeah this episode got to me in particular since I had already become dissolutioned by our capitalist system and put a lot of thought into it

I think what makes the tv series so good is that while it doesn't feel like there's as much gore as the original series, it's still pretty on the nose with the psychological horror and social critiques with each episode's subject. The Red guy instantly earned a spot as upper management, got to do nothing all day and literally got to eat diamonds with his salmon while the workers got lasagna and a cigarette bud. There's also the ongoing bit where the workers are all cheeky and make small talk in the exact same way makes it feel all the more soulless than if the workers were depicted as emotionless husks. And the ending bit is very obvious with what it's saying. Yellow guy has spent 40 years working hard or hardly working, he's grown old and lost all of his youth, having dedicated his entire life to the corporate machine of Robertson and Sons and Friends Bits and Parts Ltd. He even wound up marrying his coworker, his life revolved around this job. And when they all get out and the song ends, the Duck just asks "what was it all for?" The Briefcase gives a simple answer, saying they've earned a single gold coin, only for it to lodge itself into Duck's eye. These ideas aren't exactly revolutionary, but its messages are all interesting nonetheless.

I feel like the first episode is the most tame. In my opinion, the first season tries to tell you what the show will be about and the things you can expect as the series progresses such as the gore,blood, sentitive topics, creepy aesthetic and abunch more. But in the second season things start to be abit more wholesome and colourful and tries to calm down the viewers from the horrors of season one while still maintaining its gorish and creepy nature and also throwing in some new lore about the show in a mysterious, hidden and interesting way so expect good things as the second season progresses
If there's one thing I can say about the new DHMIS TV series, it's that the extended runtime means there's a lot more room for comedy, with the really odd dialogue, the delivery of which is top notch I must say!
I feel a little sorry for Duncan, tbh. The workers seem so nice (like, unironically) and Duck Guy’s just being mean to him for no apparent reason. Duncan: 🎶But I quite like it and I think you will-🎶 Duck Guy: Stop it! 😡 Duncan: Aww ☹️
He's been an asshole since the very beginning, he always bullied yellow guy during the og series. He's my least favorite character, he's just a douchebag.
By the way, there's someone who compiled every episode made of the entire series so far and it doesn't have censors for anyone wondering. The show can expand because before the episodes could only be 5 minutes long at most with the team's budget but, since it's been 7 years since its first debut, they now have more than the power to expand on the budgets.
