Copied from wikipedia about the orgin
"The phrase first appears in Antoine Galland's Les Mille et une nuits (1704-1717) as Sésame, ouvre-toi (English, "Sesame, open yourself").[1] In the story, Ali Baba overhears one of the 40 thieves saying "open sesame". His brother later cannot remember the phrase, and confuses it with the names of grains other than sesame, becoming trapped in the magic cave."

The one with "open sesame" is not true. That is the original phrase.
It originates in the story of alibaba and the 40 thieves. The cave they were trying to open had a sesame-plant growing beside it. The sesame opening and giving access to it's fruit is a metaphor for the cave opening and giving access to it's treasure.

I always toss the cap in too. It's not going to hurt anything. It's not going to bang around any harder than say a pair of shoes. Also, if you are using water hot enough to melt the cup your water is probably too dang hot. Holy cow. If you mean it may get hot enough to make the plastic a little soft and therefore warping the cup, yes it's possible. But the cap can still easily be snapped back onto the original bottle even after a little warpage.

The white eggplants are a variety of eggplant called “ornamentals” and sometimes called “golden” and “whites” but regular purple eggplants don’t start out white. So you learned wrong kiddo.
Also candy corn is called candy corn because it is shaped like a corn kernel (which should have been obvious) - not because of how it looks when stacked.
And it IS open sesame. From the Arabian Nights.

@@juppheinekken3465 A flame is basically a body of ignited gas. Take a lighter, for example: You turn the little flint wheels and they generate the spark that ignites the tiny stream of butane you release by pressing the button. This creates a lot of energy, which is partially released as heat. The rest of this energy is absorbed by the atoms; the electrons jump to a higher energy level but can't hold that position for long. They fall back down to their original position and in doing so, they release the remaining energy under the form of light.
This is why a flame has different colors (red at the top, yellow in the middle and blue at the bottom. Red light is generated by atoms who absorb less energy than those who generate yellow light.

I feel like if some of these people would of gotten their eyes off their phones a few years ago, they would have been a lot younger when they found out some of these things. I'm a tour guide, and people will literally pay for a tour of this wonderful place, and then bury their eyes behind their phones to see something else while in motion. It's sort of scary that they think all the answers come from that little rectangle instead of a real time, experienced human being sitting right next to them.

The book that open sesame came from literally says "Instead of "Sesame," he said, "Open, Barley!" and the door remained fast.
