    I have hoarded my LGB’S for a few years now. I started making junk journals a few years ago. I love working with them. Back some time ago, I found a whole set of the Walt Disney books, encyclopedia’s. I bought the whole set and made my grand daughter a journal for her memories. I used the books from my son’s birth year and my DIL’s birth year to decorate it with. I think mom and dad loved it way more than she did because she was just a year old. It turned out so cute!

    I have containers of golden books from when my kids were little. They are in their 40s and my daughter still won’t give them up. I did manage to confiscate a few of them and was wondering what I could do with them for journaling. Make it a memorable book for her. Thank you for this great video

    I am so glad I stumbled upon this video today. Without a doubt, my favorite! I love how you kept the integrity of the story. The jingly ribbons on the spine are so adorable! Literally the cutest I've seen! And aside from a little time, seems to be the simplest I've seen. And hooray for no sewing! The Golden spine? Brilliant! And...we have the same sense of humor. I think you may be my spirit animal and I can't wait to try one of these beauties! If I start now, maybe my grands will get one for Christmas!

    So many other vids I've watched are cutting away, throwing out, just getting rid of the gold binding which is what makes it the icon Golden Book in the 1st place. So thanks for preserving that part of it

      When I make mine, I take a heat gun and heat the spine up for just a few seconds and the foil just peals up. I save them so I can use it wherever I decide.

    I appreciate you keeping the Golden Books relatively intact. It just breaks my heart to see those little treasures destroyed for projects that will be outdated sooner than later. I just do not understand such little disregard for the sweet memories of childhood. Barbara in Texas 😔

    I know this video is 3 years old and you probably already know this…but you can heat the gold foil up with a heat gun and it will peel up. Makes it so much easier to get the staples out.

    I have watched a lot of videos on putting them together and yours is the best way. So many are removing the signature binding “golden” book bind. It just floors me. Then they use binding rings. Uhg. Thank u for doing yours the best. They r beautiful

    Hello. I just ran across a 3 Little Golden Books Classic Collection. It’s like 10x12! Huge! It has The Shy Little Kitten, The Little Red Hen, and The Little Red Caboose! I’m a little nervous starting it. Any advice?

    • @RedCardinalCrafts
      @RedCardinalCrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s exciting! I don’t think I’ve ever seen them in that big size before. I say just go for it. Turn them into junk journals. Just carefully take the pages out, Put a piece of chipboard down the spine like I did to make it a little bit wider. And then just add extra papers in amongst the pages. Don’t be nervous it’s just paper and if you make a mistake just call them happy little mistakes and move on. Most importantly have fun!
