I don't think there were barcodes in 1950. I do like the way you preserve the original spine because so many journal-makers cut the covers and lose so much.

I am so glad to find this tutorial. I love the idea of LGB journals but hated to lose the original look. I just knew someone would figure this out for me!! Thank you!! New subscriber now!
Hi! Thanks for the video. I also have videos showing how I do LGBs. I remove the trim with a heat gun to keep it in tact and the glue it back on. Such a cute story, haven’t seen this one
Yes there are so many different ways to tackle making these fun books. I absolutely love working with the themes they provide and how cute they turn out. Thanks for watching
I have some older LGBs but the cover has barcode, which makes me wonder if someone substituted the cover because bar codes were around in the 1950s, I don’t think. Thoughts?
I think I’d definitely do some research on that. I’m not sure but I do know there are books and of course google to help with researching the value on these books so maybe it will tell about the covers too

@@FrappsScraps I was born in 1957 and had this book, it was my favorite. The original book had a dark blue cover. It was written/published in 1950, but with barcodes on the front, that one would have been printed after 1970. They're still printing that one!
@@vintage5729 I have seen this book with many different covers. I have since learned that with a barcode it was not the original publishing from the 50’s but I am always on the look out now. I love little golden books and have just started reading them to my granddaughter ♥️ thanks for watching
Yes I have messed up a spine… ink, glue, tape, fabric are all some of the good things used to hide any imperfections… lol just another chance to embellish
1950 would be the original copyright. There should be a second date for the reprint on a series of numbers that would show which reprinting your copy is.

Thank you and yes, I have since learned more about copyright and barcodes 😉
Great projects share and great video and tfs 🌸
Thank you 😃
Thank you. I too want to preserve the golden seal. Just made one for my
Great niece Gisele
Most welcome! Glad to hear you made one- thanks for watching
It has a UPC code so it's not vintage, per se, it is a reprint from after sometime in the 1970s when they started to use UPC's.
Thanks I have since learned that little copyright secret 😀
Great tutorial for your subbies!!😊. Thanks so much. Blessings from Betty in Ohio. (A year late😁).
Thank you for watching ♥️
I have been wanting to make one but have never made a journal before
I know you have supplies girl! Hardest part is just getting started on one- but once you do it’s so much fun!!
Haha I have tons of supplies 😅 I just need to give it a shot
@@Vagabondcrafter easiest way to start is with an altered book- check out this video th-cam.com/video/PjLONkJoaJA/w-d-xo.html
I Use a hot air gun to remove the golden spine then on the signatures to loosen the glue.
Great idea! Thank you for watching
i am new to your channel and so excited to add another JJ Junkie to my list! Love your ideas!

Pokey Little puppy was my oldest daughter’s favorite book
I can’t believe the books are from 1950 because there are bar codes on the books!
Yes I did learn more about copyright after making this video 🤦🏽♀️
The original copyright would be 1950 but I think with barcodes your books would be much later than that.

Hi, Jentucky Krafter, I new in this, what's LGBs?
Just an FYI, I know your book says 1950, but barcodes on the front , lets you know that it was actually published after the 1970's.....
Thank you yes, I have learned more about copyright information since this video
New subscriber. I absolutely love this. I just finished my first couple. Love the ideas I got from yours. Tyfs

What’s the name of the tape
Hi- the binding tape I used is just 3M duct tape in white - thank you so much for watching
Have you ever messed up the spine but used it anyway. I’m new to this just trying to figure it out 😄😄

I have thought about doing one of these. Nice project. They’re hard to find here
Where are you from?

I am commenting as I watch, LOL. I also like to preserve as much as the book also!!!!!! I cannot cut fabric straight, how do you do that? 😂
Cut about an inch then tear.
Your books are not from 1950…they were reprinted. The first bar codes were not put on products until June of 1974.

Your story is from 1950, your book is from the 75 or younger it has the It has the bars down in the corner dead give away!
1974 is when the first bar code was created- I’m aware of this now- thanks for watching
