That poor dog! The owners obviously have a lovely home and so can afford for that poor dog to be groomed more often. That dog has been neglected and looks broken! I have been grooming for years and never had such a dog on my table that looks so broken! Absolutely shameful and unforgivable! However, you have done a brilliant job on her and I am so impressed with the time you took to remove all the grass seeds that must of taken ages. Well done for making her life happy again.

  • @summerstrain
    @summerstrain 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +194

the green thing on her paws is called brilliant green. it is a dye and an antiseptic, but it is not used in veterinary. it's a common home remedy in Easter Europe for desinfecting wounds, although it mostly burns the skin and doesn't let it heal properly. so it was clear for me from the start that her owners lied about visiting the vet

I've come to comment this. It's a real problem here where I live when people bring dogs with those "home remedy" that they listened from their grandpas or an random G search. The client lie to the Vet and expect we believe in them, bruh. There's some cases that would have a tottally different treatment If the client just tell us the truth. It's not like a Vet will judge a person with less condition, it's not a shame, but we surely judge you If you lie about your pet real living conditions.

I have an English Cocker, and I'm alarmed at the terrible condition she was in. Very neglected. And she definitely is not groomed every 2 months. In addition to the wounds (which how did they not notice those?) and the foxgrass, she had a terrible mange or other skin condition. She was also breathing very heavily, considering she was "sleepy". I don't think she was sleepy, I think she had infection coursing through her veins, and was very very sick. And skinny! Poor thing. I also don't understand why her tail was cropped so short. I think she's been suffering her whole life. Bless you for helping her! And I really hope her situation is better now, but unfortunately I have my doubts that much will change. You said they are friends of yours, so I hope you will check on her.

You were angels in disguise to care for Didi the way you did! I was a vet tech for many years and I can attest to the fact that Didi was not just “sleeping” through that grooming. She was obviously sick and suffering and had she continued on that way without your care for her, the owners may have ended up with a seriously sick dog or worse. They are your friends - so please keep reminding them of the importance of regular grooming AND keeping Didi indoors.

Omg! Thank you for helping Didi! I've never seen a cocker spanial as a farm dog, but regardless she needs better attention then what's she's getting from her owners. Makes me wonder about what the other animals might have going on, a vet needs to check out all the animals. This was hard to watch.😢 Shame on the owners. I think you gave her a much needed spa day! Although she didn't seem to care about anything, she was giving up! She needs some downtime to heal! Thank you far helping her. ❤❤❤❤ ❤

I have 2 Wolf hound bouvier mix. I live on a farm. They both got into the stickers in the field after chasing 3 coyotes.
They both had thousands of stickers in thier hair .far too many to remove. So I have them both shaved. It was the only choice. But i still had to remove stickers from thier feet.
    It was miserable.
I had the field cut down.
I now keep my dogs hair short so i dont miss any stickers

Didi is gorgeous, her copper colour is stunning. Love the long hair especially those furry ears, so cute. Didi would be exhausted plus you have a nice warm and quiet grooming salon. I think she was appreciating the rest, plus she wasn't standing on those sore paws. I was wondering if her tiredness was in part due to the wound infection, because that does happen and she might have had a raised temperature I am so glad you could help her immensely. You got rid of the fox tails and treated the wounds left behind. The one that is a definite hole will have been an abscess after the foxtail burrowed in more. That's been there a while especially now maggots are hatching. I hope the vet really cleaned it out and gave her antibiotics. I sincerely hope the vet checked her ear canals as foxtail are notorious for causing huge problems there. 3 weeks later she is back to being a lively dog-Fantastic.... I also hope your friend now realise why they have to check/brush her.. We live on a farm, dogs n cats get foxtails but we try to keep them away from the long grass.. Cats are harder to control!!! One of our dogs many years ago got a large Thorn in her paw, she was limping but we could not find anything, no hole, nothing sticking out the wound etc.
Then it became a huge abscess, off to vet for some quick surgery, they opened the abscess let it drain, washed it out and found a big Thorn in it. Daily dressings, antibiotic tablets and like Didi 3 weeks later, healed and back to her normal usual self.... Thank you for Helping Didi. Thank you for sharing her with us.

I’m so glad you took care of her, she’s so beautiful I don’t know but I think that besides being neglected she’s also abuse, she’s to calm and head down all the time, I’m sorry for her😢

I didn"t believe the owners took the dog to the vets. I had a cocker who inhaled a foxtail. I didn't know it at the time he kept sneezing so I took him to vet. He ended up needing surgery as one of them had worked its way out of his sinus cavity into his facial muscle tissue. It was a long recovery, poor boy. Glad the owners realized Didi needed to be indoors.

Just like Didi fell asleep on your grooming table, after working in the dental field for over 35 years,I have seen people fall asleep in the dentists chair. It amazes me every time. I take it as a compliment as I feel that they are relaxed, which often makes their treatment easier.

Oh my God! I am IN LOVE with this dog! Sleepy head looks so sweet! Her breathing looked a little labored....maybe it was a nice rest for her just to lay down and be pampered ❤❤❤❤ They did not take her to the vet at all! Would you consider setting up a fund where your viewer's could donate so that you may provide medical treatment in cases like this? I would donate in a heartbeat! The ending was BEAUTIFUL!

Thank you for caring for this lovely cocker spaniel. He needed your help most definitely and I am glad his living situation is now better. My goodness, he was just the quietest saddest dog and the change in 3 weeks at the end of the video shows how he should really be -- bright, happy and energetic. He seems healed physically AND mentally.

Those comments about this dog being sedated don't know what they are talking about. This dog has given up due too infection, pain and neglect. She shut down. She looks sick. In the end she looked a little better and seemed to sleep just from exhaustion and maybe because she felt safe with the groomer. I'm stunned that she was a regular at the salon. What were her owners thinking mistreating her like that? Even with the long hair you could see that this poor dog felt very poor. I really hope that her life will be better now. Thank you for helping her and for calling the owner to follow up on the "Vet"-story.

So glad this ended well. Till I watched the end of the video I was going to post that this poor, sweet dog needed to be taken away from her owner. But now knowing that they will keep her inside, and hopefully routinely brushed and groomed, I feel much relief.
