Winner of the Audience Award at the Slamdance Film Festival, this realistic comedy tells the story of Henry Phillips, a hapless modern day troubadour who grinds his way through the heartland, living out of his car and singing his twisted satirical songs to anyone who will listen. After a booking mishap involving a Christian fundraiser, he decides he's hit rock bottom. Seeking to shake things up, he moves to L.A. where his luck changes overnight. Thanks less to his inept manager than to a wild case of mistaken identity, he falls backwards into a string of packed gigs, a record deal and even the promise of love. But he who lives by the whimsy of show business dies by it, and reality hits him like a fist in the face: an innocent miscommunication over a bagel brands him a neo-Nazi in the world of tabloid journalism. Luckily, somewhere between rock bottom and nowhere lies the perfect terrain for his dark and hilarious songs.

Henry out did major box office films, this was hysterical from start to finish. Everyones acting really pulled it together, it wasnt just some skit. This flowed so beautifully.
This a full display of Henry's truly outstanding cinematic genius. Every single detail, the acting, story and cinematography are treated with care and craftsmanship. Seeing the final result is nothing short of a life changing experience and the only thing I wish for is being able to see this masterpiece for the first time again.

I don't like movies with real actors and I just wanted to take a peek at this movie before going to sleep. I stayed up till 3:30am finishing it and laughing a lot. Thanks for the treat, Henry! Did not expect having such a good a good time.

i remember seeing henry back in 85. I think metallica and bob dylan were singing in the opening of his show. All the chicks were showing their boobs, the dudes went crazy, everybody was on blow . That was a sick show henry. Miss u man.

Wow!!! To be watching this in 2023 on your YT channel is awesome. My first viewing of this film was 2012. To be honest, this movie inspired me. I’m about to celebrate my 5th anniversary of quitting the corporate job and being a full time musician and still being able paying the bills.

One of the very first movies I ever streamed on Netflix in 2012 . Enjoyed it from start to finish and became an instant fan of HP and was so excited to discover Henry's Kitchen on YT. Proud to be a fan from Clown ( gonna watch it again today )to Kitchen to Highway Man.

It is FANTASTIC. Really truly. The depth of emotions and relatable stresses; everyone's struggles are different in specifics, but gave us the shared core emotions. Great movies do that, I think. Big Henry Phillips fan - sadly didn't know about this movie! I loved every second of it, so many different feelings and emotions but so funny throughout. Rarely do I re-watch a movie right away but this ones getting replayed immediately.
